Bought it to replace a reel for jigging in prep for the red snapper season in florida which never happened...but took it down to Islamorada in the florida keys and it blew my mind. The reel is very light, spooled with I believe 60lb braid it holds more than id need. Handled 10-15lb blackfin tuna with ease jigging. Easy to cast with it as well as even made a heck of a trolling reel. Caught mutton snapper, barracuda, and even tarpon. Honestly when I can ill be replacing most of my trolling setups and bottom setups with this reel. For the price you honestly cant beat it. Highly recommend this reel Review: Very Happy With Reel - Received in only couple days to my door. Nice. Well boxed and protected. Took out and admired as how nice this reel is. Immediately mounted on my older Silstar "Limit" 7ft rod after receiving. Spooled on some 30# braided line then used some large rubber O-rings as casting bait. Found out quickly to turn down that spool clutch knob to keep spool from free spinning so much and then untangle the line. Yep, just like the old baitcasters I remember, but not as fancy. Now, let's try this again. Once I got the knob dialed in, the reel worked flawless. The 6.6:1 ratio in my opinion is perfect for the larger fish as it lets the reel have more torque to fight the fish. One thing I did do after mounting reel onto the rod is I took a couple long, strong Zip Ties and wrapped around the rod seat and reel mount for better security, in case the reel/rod holding screw loosened up from usage. Seen some older videos of users of this model reel saying the "clicker" isn't very audible. I'll say the company must of heard ya, as the clicker on this reel is quite loud and I also like the counter-balance on the handle. Gives your thumb a rest spot and also lets your thumb give that extra bit of more handle torque if needed. Overall, I'm quite impressed by this reel, from its color, 9 bearings to make things smooth, to how stout it seems to be made. I'm not a professional fisherman, but I like good equipment without the high costs of purchase, so I hope this reel lasts as long as some of the reels I have and use. ## Features - Catch the Biggest Fish with Ease: The Piscifun Alinox 400 baitcaster is built to handle the biggest freshwater fish and saltwater species. With 38lbs of max drag and Precision-machined, high-strength, corrosion-resistant double hardend brass gears (main gear and pinion), with a 10% increase in overall strength, suitable for casting big lures and fishing big fish in saltwater scenarios. - Built to Last, Designed for Performance: Crafted with premium aluminum alloy frame, handle and rear side cover, maximizing reel weight reduction while ensuring high strength and drastically reducing corrosion by salt water. Loaded with high-end components, corrosion resistant 8 double shielded stainless steel bearings and 1 single bearing, Abrasion resistant, smooth and strong, designed for harsh fishing conditions. - Line Cast Alarm System: The baitcasting reel features an independent sound alarm function, allowing anglers to run a live bait rig and hear the fish take the bait. This assists the angler inincreasing their catch rate. - Innovative Design "HDS" (Hercules Drag System) The baitcasting reel utilizes the exclusive "HDS". The HDS increases the contact area of the brake pad surface thus increasing the friction and providing greater resistance. Powerful fishing force of up to 38lbs, the 6.6 gear ratio offers a maximum drag force of 38lb, while the 8.1 gear ratio can achieve a maximum drag force of 35lb. - Labor-saving Balance Rocker Arm: The 120 mm extended counterbalance handle provides the best leverage ratio and maximum torque. The balance rocker arm is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, match with low-profile frame and EVA knobs that provide greater leverage in battles with larger fish, making it easier for anglers to operate and exert control. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0DR7XSNF4 | | Best Sellers Rank | #19,011 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #34 in Fishing Reels | | Brand | Piscifun | | Brand Name | Piscifun | | Color | Black - 8.1:1 | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 532 Reviews | | Fishing Line Type | Braided | | Fishing Reel Maximum Drag | 38 pounds | | Fishing Technique | Baitcasting | | Hand Orientation | Right Hand | | Handle Material | Aluminum | | Included Components | Baitcaster Reel | | Item Highlight | Freshwater saltwater, aluminum frame, line cast alarm, 8+1 bearings, low-profile body | | Item Weight | 14.4 ounces | | Line Capacity | 20/300, 10/400 | | Manufacturer | Piscifun | | Manufacturer Part Number | Piscifun-BRL005-BK-RXH-PN | | Material | Aluminum | | Material Type | Aluminum | | Model Name | Piscifun-BRL005-BK-RXH-PN | | Model Number | Piscifun-BRL005-BK-RXH-PN | | Number of Items | 1 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 2 Year Manufacturer | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Piscifun - **Color:** Black - 8.1:1 - **Fishing Reel Maximum Drag:** 38 pounds - **Fishing Technique:** Baitcasting - **Hand Orientation:** Right Hand - **Handle Material:** Aluminum - **Item Weight:** 14.4 ounces - **Manufacturer:** Piscifun - **Material:** Aluminum - **Model Name:** Piscifun-BRL005-BK-RXH-PN ## Images ![Alinox 400 Baitcasting Reel, 38LB Drag, Aluminum Frame - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71MxVBEAn9L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Why choose this baitcaster reel?** A: Alinox 400 is built for big lures and strong fish, with an aluminum alloy frame, hardened brass gears, 8+1 stainless bearings, and up to 35–38lb max drag. **Q: Is it suitable for musky fishing?** A: Yes, it is designed for musky and other large fish. For heavy lures, set the brake and spool tension first, then cast smoothly to protect gears and reduce backlash. **Q: Does the line guide move when casting?** A: The level wind works during retrieve, not during freespool casting. Center the line guide before long casts to reduce line angle, friction, and casting distance loss. **Q: Which gear ratio should I choose?** A: Choose 6.6:1 for more pulling control with big baits or strong fish. Choose 8.1:1 for faster pickup when burning lures or quickly taking up slack line. **Q: Can it be used in saltwater?** A: Yes, it is built for freshwater and saltwater use. After saltwater trips, rinse lightly, dry it, and keep bearings and gears properly lubricated for smoother use. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceeds expectations *by H***P on September 21, 2026* Im not one to come back to a product on amazon and write a review but this one i felt like I had to.
