Fantastic all-round shoes - one year update!
With my faith in Rockport and Sketchers being tarnished with shoes that failed before their time, I found these by Ecco. The price and descriptions certainly emphasised quality and they look like a cross between smart casuals and walking shoes which are just what I was looking for. Apart from looking smart, the thick base is what I was looking for as I wanted something that was equally at home on pavement as it was off-road.In short I've worn these non-stop for over two weeks and they are epic. The base is very soft and padded, making them extremely comfortable to wear on hard surfaces for long walks. They are well-padded but also flexible, while the sole has enough brace to provide support if you take them off the beaten track. In fact they have excellent grip so wouldn't do too badly as a spontaneous hiking shoe, combined with the fact they're meant to be waterproof. It's rare that I find a shoe that's great from the outset. They are truly great at everything - driving, walking, hiking. They're also extremely comfortable feel like they'll last too. The only things I'd change would be slightly thicker heel padding and longer laces! I am extremely chuffed - yes they're expensive, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. I absolutely love mine. One year update! I just realised I've owned these shoes for a year and thought I'd drop back to say they still deserve 5 stars!!! They look 95% new, the tread is still thick and grippy, the heel hasn't collapsed and the leather is pretty much stain free despite wearing them pretty much every day. Seriously impressed and worth every penny. I only hope that whenever they do wear out that they're still for sale so I can get another pair!

Most important to know, for me anyway, is that I love these boots.
Came across ECCO when i bought a couple of pairs in size 46 EU of the older Track 6, new old stock in a shop sale at very low price. One moc toe and the other round toe, both impressively comfortable.Always wanted to try the more recent Track 25 model and this new boot is equally as comfortable though the older model is all leather upper and seems a bit tougher, leather wise and outsole. The originals are 12-12.5uk size 46 EU but this newer Track 25 is again12-12.5 but 47 EU and is a little longer but doesn't look as bulky wide. I do need an extra slim leather/rubber back insole to get the same fit as with the 46 though if I wore an even thicker sock then would not need this. I don't have particularly large feet and have pairs of EU 44/45 for use in the warmer months but I like the comfort of the larger size in these and there is about 2 inches to spare in the length for my toes but they seem to bend nicely in a good spot under the balls of my feet.I'd get a smaller size if I really wanted a snugger fit but these feel really great just to clump about in. I wouldn't want to go speed marching in them but just for general winter wear they are really nice I think and I could also slop through the mud some in them but I have other more specific hike type boots for that. These are like a reference standard for comfort that I can compare my other boots to and see how they measure up and luckily I have a lot of nice footwear and I adjust them all with different insoles and for thick or thin sock and I get them all to a good level but these Track boots are pretty much there right off. They should be reasonably durable and they look very well made. I haven't worn the Track 6 that often so they are still in perfect condition and I'm not that hard on boots. I currently have a pair of Karrimor that I use and they are getting on for 15 years or more and just won't die and yet I have other newer boots that are failing after a year or two so who knows. For now I'm happy to have a new boot that is like a special foot experience just to try on. Worth a try as a general use luxury boot for anything not to hardcore and they look pretty smart & stylish also I think. In the photo the new Track 25 is on the left on the dark box. The insole in these is not as thick layered as with the older model so I swopped insoles with my other round toe track 6 boot and now I don't need the extra thin insole to help these fit better and the thinner insole suits my older track 6 round toe boot better so win win.

Have owned 3 pairs over 20 years - the very best boots out there!
I first bought these boots many years ago and they were the most comfortable and reliable boots I’ve ever owned. They lasted many years until I wore them out and went looking for another pair. The only pair in my size at the time was in Ecco in London, so they were so important to me that I got on a train the same day, having reserved them on the phone - a 230 mile whatround trip. They were still the best fitting boots like the previous ones. Now, some 20 years later and having owned many other makes, I discovered this model of Ecco boot is still made. I ordered them, they have just arrived and I was nervous that the quality of workmanship and material would have changed. They are on my feet and I can’t explain how comfortable they are - something I had forgotten. In 35 years of traveling, working, playing in umpteen other good makes of boots, these Ecco’s are without question the best boots I have ever owned. I would highly recommend anyone to try them and not agree with my sentiment. I am so pleased, as are my feet.

Good quality though sizing is tricky to get right
Bought some black ECCO Rugged Track shoes a week ago in size 9. 9 is my usual shoe size, but for trainers often get 9.5.They were a bit tight, but just okay, so for this pair I bought the 9.5-10 size in the brown colour. They feel much more comfy over the top of my foot, though I think there's a chance of slight rubbing on my heel. Will update review once properly broken in...First time used, can confirm they were very comfortable and no rubbing. Would therefore recommend buying half a size up from usual show size.Good quality though... As expected.Update after a couple of weeks: Good news on two fronts - I persevered with the size 9 shoes and after a couple of blisters managed to break them in and they are comfy. The larger 9.5 to 10 shoes feel a bit "loose" in comparison, but have not caused any blisters and were comfortable from the outset, and continue to be so.Great quality shoes.

Best shoes I own for work!
I been wearing Ecco shoes for nearly 20 plus years a women Chef standing 8 -15 hours daily. They provide me with the stability need walking on slippery and wet floors. I can walk in snow and rain without worrying about my feet getting wet. An average pair can last 3 plus years. A women wearing this man shoe they don't look too big because the shape of the toes. The leather insoles are great ,however I vuse my orthotics and the still feel good. I have down size 1 size because after awhile the leather stretches, so I feel it's important to try your true size than size up if needed. I can wear stocking, thick socks and ankle wraps and the ECCO's still fits. I have tried many, many different clogs and work boots and I always come back to my ECCO's.
