The screen was scratched and there was no remote control
It worked for what I was using it for but I wouldn't buy a used receiver again

"Discontinued by manufacturer" was deceiving. This unit was definitely used. Some parts were broken. No manual, but worked OK.

After four years of use, the receiver makes loud clicking sounds
Less than four years ago, my Sony receiver began to make loud clicking sounds and occasionally to not work at all (no sound at all). By playing around with the knobs in front and back, I was able to get the sound back, but it still makes sporadic loud clicking sounds.Researching the Internet, I learned that the clicking was caused by faulty soldering on Sony receivers.The last Sony stereo receiver I will be buying, period.

sells for from 38 bucks on ebay,amazon, etsy to 150 bucks,mine cost a confiscatory 15 dollars from a thrift resale shop, no remote came with it,,oh, a headphone jack too,I get more sound w the HPH plug to RCA connections into a second receiver,,,
