My crib is designed a little differently because the right side is connected to the diaper changer instead of having wooden bars all the way across. We were still able to make the liner work, and it has been great for us. There was no odor when it arrived. I washed mine as soon as I received it and let it air dry, which I personally recommend instead of putting it in the dryer. The stability has been awesome and we haven't had any issues with it moving around or coming loose. The comfort is great for my baby.
