Perfectly ground for drip and pour-over brewing, this legendary blend has been hand-roasted for over 50 years, delivering a robust, smooth cup that redefines decaf coffee for discerning coffee lovers. ## Description For a decaf version of the best loved Peet's Coffee to earn the Major Dickason's name, we felt it had to brew the absolute finest decaf cup in the world. So we used the exact same premium beans as the original to create a blend just as full of flavor, body, and aroma, but without any caffeine. The mellow, satisfying richness stands alone among decafs, whether prepared in a press, by drip, or as espresso. It's the boldest of its kind. A loyal customer of our original Berkeley store, retired army sergeant Key Dickason, brought the idea for our most beloved blend to Mr. Peet in 1969. Intrigued, our founder worked with the local gourmand and coffee aficionado to refine it. They sampled countless combinations before arriving at what is now our all-time bestseller. The result was so good, Alfred Peet decided naming it after his friend wasn't enough. Dickason's rich, complex blend also deserved a promotion from sergeant to major. Major Dickason's combines the best origin coffees from the world's premier growing regions, each imparting its distinctive regional characteristics while still effortlessly rounding into a smooth, balanced cup. Over the years, it has become the coffee that epitomizes Peet's: flavorful, deeply roasted, and unsurpassingly satisfying. But for us, "Major D" is just like a relationship with an old friend. We'll always remember it as the story of a customer's passion, an expert's palate, and a shared love of coffee. ## Features - Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend 10.5 oz bag of 100% Arabica decaffeinated ground coffee - Flavor and Roast: Dark Roast Decaffeinated. Flavorful, robust, full-bodied. Major Dickason's Blend symbolizes Peet's rich, flavorful taste - Brewing Method: Our ground coffee is perfect for dripping and pouring with Chemex. For other brewing methods such as espresso, cold brew, and French press, consider our whole bean coffee and home grinding - Decaffeinated is different: Peet's decaffeinated is naturally water processed to remove caffeine, not flavor, before being carefully roasted. And by using the same high-quality coffee beans, we make a decaffeinated coffee that tastes just as good as the original - Rich. Complex. Unmatched product. For over 50 years, our company, masters of our craft, has been hand roasting the world's finest coffee ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07T57YYZK | | ASIN | B07T57YYZK | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #23,148 in Grocery ( See Top 100 in Grocery ) #400 in Roasted Whole Coffee Beans | | Brand Name | Peet's Coffee | | Caffeine Content Description | Decaffeinated | | Coffee Blend Name | Major Dickason | | Coffee Roast Level | Dark Roast | | Coffee Type | Coffee Bean | | Container Type | Bag | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (5,788) | | Customer reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (5,788) | | Diet Type | Kosher | | Each Unit Count | 1 | | Flavor | Decaf Major Dickason's Blend | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00785357022485 | | Grind Type | medium | | Item Dimensions | 9.7 x 7.4 x 17 centimeters | | Item Form | Ground | | Item Package Weight | 0.31 Kilograms | | Item Type Name | ground-coffee | | Item Volume | 310.52 Milliliters | | Item Weight | 10.5 Ounces | | Item model number | 513993 | | Manufacturer | Peet's | | Manufacturer | Peet's | | Model Number | 513993 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 6 | | Package Size Name | 10.5 Ounce | | Part Number | 513993 | | Product Dimensions | 9.65 x 7.37 x 17.02 cm; 297.67 g | | Product Shelf Life | 270 Days | | Size | 300 g (Pack of 1) | | Special Ingredients | Natural Water Decaffeination Process | | Specialty | Certified Organic | | UPC | 785357022485 | | Unit Count | 10.5 Ounce | | Variety | Decaf Dark Roast | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Peet's Coffee - **Caffeine Content Description:** Decaffeinated - **Flavour:** Decaf Major Dickason's Blend - **Item form:** Ground - **Roasting level:** Dark Roast ## Images ![Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee 10.5oz - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41aDRJO10kL.jpg) ![Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee 10.5oz - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51eYKxUVKgL.jpg) ![Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee 10.5oz - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/415FhwocoQL.jpg) ![Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee 10.5oz - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51w4EpoBUvL.jpg) ![Peet's Decaf Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Ground Coffee 10.5oz - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51x9MZRGGPL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Flavor** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What process is used to decaffeinated the coffee?** A: July 2022: THEY USE WATER PROCESS: I was confused as the Amazon description was different than the prior customer service response so I emailed Peet's directly from their website. GREAT NEWS! This was part of the reply I received "In August 2021 Peet's began using the water process to decaffeinate all of our bagged coffee and K-cups in response to customer requests. This is commonly referred to as the "Swiss water process" which is only 1 of the water process companies that we work with. With the water process, coffee beans are soaked in water to remove the caffeine. The beans are then removed from the bath, dried, and ready for roasting, leaving minimal caffeine on the bean. " It continued to say that all bags and boxes will be printed to say that in the coming months. **Q: am still waiting for a package of peets coffee, you charged me almost 3 times the cost. When shall I expect my decaf coffee?** A: This is not the forum for delivery issues. Contact the seller or Amazon directly for such issues. This forum is for rating the product only. **Q: I'd like to try peet's when it's fresh. how can i get a bag that's not about to expire or is it just a matter of luck? thanks.** A: I get my coffee (K-cups and bags) at Publix or Walmart and they have all been fresh. We are fortunate to have a Peet’s coffee shop in Chattanooga so when we are there we get products from them. Never had old tasting coffee. **Q: The Peet's website indicates all decaf is decaffeinated via water process. Is this a change, if so, when did the change occur?** A: July 2022: THEY USE WATER PROCESS: I was confused as the Amazon description was different than the prior customer service response so I emailed Peet's directly from their website.
