I guess you get what you pay for. I actually have not used it yet. Just got it out of the box and right away I noticed the plates were very thin and light. They seem a bit cheaply made. I had one of these machines about 20 years ago and I loved it until the plastic shell melted and ever since then I have been looking for a replacement. The older unit had sturdier plates. I feel like I have to be extra delicate with these new plates.

This is a very well made product, I’m most impressed with the simplicity of changing out the various plates. It’s not complicated at all to remove the plates to clean or to switch from making waffles for breakfast to grilled ham and cheese for lunch during the morning rush to get to work and school.

Others have mentioned this product is built cheaply and doesn't heat well. The plates are indeed thin. But, we are very satisfied with the performance of this product. It actually makes better waffles that the monster waffle maker we had before we moved to a condo. It is not as fast as the old unit - it takes 5 minutes for the 2-waffle load to cook.The sandwich presser does a OK job also. The only shortcoming is the fixed hinge for making thicker toasted sandwiches. We solved that somewhat by toasting while pressing then rotating the sandwiches 180 degrees to finish pressing. No big deal.Love the small storage space required with the vertical stoage!! Plates come out easily and cleanup is a snap by hand.For the price this is a good deal.

Heats up fast and evenly. Sandwiches come out awesome while I leave it to do its job and rush around doing many other morning chores. I love the convenience of taking off the plates and how easy it is to do so. The seller sent a very helpful email after purchase. That was sweet unexpected courtesy (great job- I learned a good deal from the content of the email. Way to take care of your costumers!) I would totally recommend it.

We bought it to replace a broken waffle maker, thinking pressed sandwiches would be a nice bonus. This is a sandwich heater which can't make crispy waffles at all. Trading it in for a real waffle maker.

The different plates make changing it's use fairly easy, however they also make it a little more difficult to clean as batter, oil, or other detritus can easily slip under or in between the panel(s) and into the case. The plates are easy to clean individually and work well if a little small/shallow compared to dedicated waffle makers, or panini presses.Does each task well, but not perfectly.

While I was using it for the first time to make sandwiches, the poorly-made plastic lock broke. There is normally a tension when you want to press your sandwich, and the lock just couldn't tolerate it!

It comes with 3 interchangeable plates. I can do sandwich, waffle and grill plates maker with it, perfect for classic larger sandwiches, as waffle iron, steaks etc. All it takes is a simple switch of the reversible cooking plates. So I'm very satisfied with this machine.
