Dell Latitude D520 1.66Ghz/1GB/60GB/Win XP Pro/15" Notebook

This is my third refurbished laptop...like a good used car,if taken care of,it will last a long time..The Dell D520 with Windows 7 installed was a bonus.I bought this for my wife who needs are simple.I also bought this for its former use as a business computer .Having had it for over a month it works wonderfully.If you are not it need of of the latest bells and whistles,a refurbished is something to take a look at...Check that its done by a microsoft certified co.and that the certificate of authenticity is with it..good buy.

It was okay over all. It works well for the old Sim games on disk, it's a bit too slow to use a pen tablet with if you're planning on using it to draw like I was. Minecraft no longer can run on this old of a computer do to graphics and such so it really is best for older games on disk or Movies if you have DvDs.

I purchased this Dell Latitude d520 in September of 2012, It came with an adapter that did not work, which Blair Tech. replaced, then this month Feb. 2013 the computer stopped working, no lights come on or anything. I called Blair Tech. and they said it was not covered under warranty and was most likely the mother board. In December of 2012, Blair Tech. changed their warranty to a 1 year warranty but would not cover my problem. I was going to purchase a second laptop, but will not do so now.

This was the second used laptop I purchased this month (Not from this seller.) I had to return the first one so I was not expecting much from a new vendor. Big Surprise!! The laptop came as advertised, with the correct OS and power cord. They even sent a nice set of instructions on what was installed and what to do if you have OS issues. This laptop and vendor went above and beyond what was advertised!

The media could not be loaded. I purchased the dell latitude d520 from MARSN2030. Today when I got it, I turned it on andthere was a black screen saying about system and to press f1-f5. I didn't have no cd so I pushed f1 and brought me to the desktop. It was a completely grey screen though I could see an ⅛ inch of desktop at the every top and I can see a little of the pointer when dragged across the top. So even though it works I can't use it because the screen is completely grey. Now when I turn it on I don't get a black screen anymore but is grey and goes black for a second and then goes back to grey with the start up sound and a portion on the desktop at the top. When I plug in my cd drive it turns on and I can open it, a sound of a beep can also be heard allowing me to know it reads the drive. I can even shut down the laptop using the keyboard and can also hear thr windows music while shutting down. So by the sounds of it and the ⅛inch desktop I can see at the top of the screen, can see my cursor moving and all the sounds it plays while starting up and shutting down are good and can even read the cd drive. The laptop itself works and if it wasn't for the grey screen I wouldn't have anything wrong with the laptop. I would of gave a 5 star review but since I can't even use the laptop I have to give less than a three star since it's obvious it wasn't damaged in shipping but the person who refurbished it.Here's a picture and a video of what it sounds and looks like

My husband is old school. His Favorite game is sim city 3000 unlimited . We needed an older computer in order for him to play that game. . Im actually amazed at how well it works. NOW this isnt a fast computer ! This computer wont play the newest games .This laptop is outdated but works fine for my husband. He only wants it to play simcity ,age of empire and surf youtube . So its perfect for that kind of stuff.

One of the USB ports was severely damaged. Fortunately there a 3 other ports and I can survive with 3.
