Solar lights charge up throughout the day and automatically turn on at dusk. Although some charge is gained through the winter months the solar lights require a good days sun in order to gain a full charge.If you find a hanging basket a little too traditional, put this 28cm Holly Berry Topiary Ball in your garden instead. They look fantastic either side of your front door!Simply hang it up or display it in a pot, with solar panel receiving sunlight in the day, then watch as the 20 LED lights automatically come on when the sun goes down, then get a re-charge when it comes back up again.Solar panel is separate to the topiary ball so you can choose where to place the solar panel in full sun.

Don't expect solar panel functionality
For fairly inexpensive, well-sized, fake topiary balls, these are fine.Do they look fake? Yes, at least up close. Besides the plastic-ness, the designers didn't think to put something on the inside and it's clear.Do the lights have different colours? No. Whatever, boxes can mislead...Those are grievances that can be overlooked - not exactly what you want, but it's not really failing its purpose.Unfortunately there are two big solar panel issues. First, the solar panels are mounted on staves, even though these are clearly hanging topiaries. So you either need to jerry-rig the panels to the balls like I tried to little success, or only be hanging them near grass and not mind a long wire/trip hazard between the two. Second, they don't work anyway.

Nice feature outside of house
Looks nice outside the house, but I have not yet seen the lights on - they either don't work or we haven't had enough light to power the solar battery - I await in anticipation to see if they work,

Lights up enough even after overcast days, would benefit from a better loop to hang it from as windy days tore it apart, but the topiary stayed together and thats more important.

It’s a wonderful Christmas ball, just change the batteries for the decent one straight after you buy it, I did it and it’s already few weeks hanging down by our front door , making me smile every time I look at it . It looks lovely .

Good for outside of my shop, but the on/off switch is flimsy. May not last long. Not good for the heavy handed
