Review: Great for maker projects - Good product, I was able to tap the core out to use with a magnet pendulum project. Would by again to save the hassle of winding. If you are looking for a coil for an electromagnet project, these work fine.
Review: Well made and strong flux - I bought these to rig up some magnetic pulse tricks. Each electromagnet easily handles a 12-volt 3 amp pulse. They also have a threaded back on the core to allow for easy mounting. In my use, I used epoxy to set them into a project.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How strong are they? What's the recommended max voltage?**
A: The coils are about a 28 AWG gauge. Voltage is not the concern, it will be how many Amps your circuit requires. Of course the combination dictates the power. I have put 48v through them with several Amps with minor heat. With out cooling they will carry 5 Amps without issue. The cores are iron. Well made, nice tight, uniform wind.

**Q: What's the iron core diameter ?**
A: about 8 mm

**Q: What is the AWG of the copper?**
A: It's about 30 AWG

**Q: So to get the levitation to work, you need 4 coils, but you only sell 3 in a pack, why?**
A: A marking scheme, I would speculate. A bit like the hot dogs and buns, never the same count, lol. A good coil, though.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works, but hot with enough amperage

I hooked this up at 12V, 1.2A, and the magnetic field pulsed, most likely because it was overdrawing the power supply. I swapped power supplies to 12V 3A, and that solved my pulsing problem. The field strength isn't bad. It does however get QUITE hot after only a couple minutes.
