It processes up to 70 pounds of concentrates per hour, operates on minimal water (3 gallons), and runs on 12V batteries or solar power. Designed for portability and ease, it folds into a rugged Action Packer tub, making it the ultimate tool for serious prospectors seeking maximum gold recovery on the go. ## Description The Desert Fox is a compact, light-weight gold panning machine you can take anywhere. Weighing under 10 pounds even with a rugged folding stand, it folds up and stores neatly in its Action Packer tub. Operate it right out of the tub, or remove it from the case and use it in a stream. The Desert Fox spiral wheel has 7 separate spirals which pick up GOLD 7 times with each rotation of the wheel (105 times per minute). The 7 spirals dump gold into the tube-shaft and into a hanging gold catch-cup. The Desert Fox's pitch adjustment and water spray system help you “tune out” the black sand. This variable speed Desert Fox Automatic Gold Panning Machine is aptly named because it was designed to conserve water and will operate on just 3 gallons. It sets up quickly and easily and can run 70 pounds of concentrates in an hour-- it's both a separator and a concentrator in one self-contained panning machine. Recovers an amazing amount of flour gold so you never lose even the smallest pieces. Operates on any 12-volt automotive battery or even a 35 watt solar panel (battery/solar panel NOT included). Ships with an owner's manual. Recommended mesh size of material you feed into the machine is 10 mesh. Quick and simple set up: First take everything out of the Action Packer Tub (case), then spread out the stand legs and place them back into the case, and secure them with wing nuts (included). Then you drop the wheel into the slot and secure the spray bar to the front of the drive unit and tighten its wing nut and hang the collection cup in place. You’re now ready to go! Fill the case with enough water to at least cover the pump (about two-thirds full). Hook up your battery cables to your power supply and turn it on and start getting that GOLD! Screen your black sand material to 10 mesh for best results. OPTION: Step up you production with Mountain Goat Trommel + Desert Fox Combo Kit. Manufacturer suggests screening your sandy material to 10 mesh. The Desert Fox can run 70 pounds of concentrates in an hour-- it's both a separator and a concentrator in one self-contained panning machine. Recovers an amazing amount of flour gold so you never lose even the smallest pieces (which all add up!). Machine designed to conserve water and will operate on just 3 gallons. Have fun getting the gold! **Q: Can the wheel recover flour gold?** A: YES, BUT! You NEED a good supply of Jet Dry dishwashing cleanser. It changes the surface tension of the water and keeps just such small, light gold, mostly anyway, in the cup. Most important is to control the = of the water pressure+ the Pitch angle of the wheel itself+ and how well you classify the material down to mostly black sand. One scoop of a tablespoon of 3, will shoot gold into the cup within 5-8 seconds if there’s a good amount of gold in the source material. It took me hours to figure out how to balance all that. But once I did, I got gold pretty much from anything I dig up. Crush rocks in LA county and youve got one Oz per ton of dirt according to the USGS reports. I hope I can get a better filter for the pump and a better pump. It’s just sucking in and ripping the stocking. Nd. Accessories. Oh, one more variable, speed. Get the one with the speed control too so you dial it in how it works. **Q: Can I buy the motor only?** A: Yes you can. Contact Desert Fox in Quartzite Arizona. You can get all parts to rebuild this unit. I got the motor, the spray bar and center sleeve **Q: Is this the updated version?** A: Yes. ## Frequently Bought Together - Desert Fox Automatic Gold Panning Machine - Variable Speed - Gold Mining Equipment (Desert Fox) - Goldn Gold Paydirt Eureka Panning Pay Dirt Bag – Gold Prospecting Concentrate - Nugget Reserve Gold Paydirt Clunker Panning Pay Dirt Bag – Gold Prospecting Concentrate --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/74446243-automatic-gold-panning-machine-variable-speed-gold-mining-equipment-desert](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/74446243-automatic-gold-panning-machine-variable-speed-gold-mining-equipment-desert) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
