I purchased this book, spent maybe three hours the first night just reading it, and the next day I was already seeing the benefits. I understood how to set up data relationships on fields across sources, created parameters to drive the whole workbook, and took advantage of maybe a dozen little features within the UI that, in and of themselves don't seem like much, but they allowed me to be much more productive. I created an extract on my laptop, so that the hotel WiFi I was using at the time would not hinder query time, I disabled the auto-refresh while I was making major changes to worksheets, to cut down further on wait time, and I learned that I can rename the fields to be anything I want, so that I could give them more presentation-friendly names. I'm still going back to this thing and picking up tips that I forgot about. If you skip the first 10 pages and just jump into the meat of the book you'll be blown away with how easy it is to read and understand. I love how this book is based on the Superstore Data sample excel file. You can take practice from home to work and back. Its such an easy read...can't emphasize that enough. Im half way through the book already after only 2 days. There is 0 wait with this book!!! You want to learn how to do donut charts? Go here, do this....you want to understand dimensions vs measures?
