Rare Smurf Eggs? Hold your purchase!
I thought smurf eggs were consumed to extinction, but this seems not to be the case! No, but really, why the abhorrent amount of blue dye? Just try to compare some of the black eggs on the back of the filter. And yes, these are normally black.I spent a bunch of time attempting to filter out the excessive dye with a coffee filter, and afterward, my eggs were still blatantly blue. If you guys could just not add any dye, that would be ideal. The purpose of dye is to make food more appealing and the dyes in this food is making me wonder if it's even safe to consume. I also lost about 1/6 of the caviar in this process. The flavor is good, the price is amazing, but then there's a concerning amount of dye. I was consuming the caviar for health purposes, but until the blue dye issue is amended, I cannot purchase more. This is disappointing as I love Season's sardines, but this makes me wonder if they have a quality control department whatsoever. Please, get rid of your dyes, there is no benefit especially in the quantity presented. I am far from the only one with this issue; listen to your costumers. Maybe sell a version that is free of all the aesthetic additives for those concerned about their health.

To accommodate your Champagne taste on your beer budget
OK, this isn't Beluga. On the other hand, unlike Beluga, if you buy this you won't make a serious contribution to our national balance of trade problems. If you are planning to awe the populace with your conspicuous consumption this is not for you. If you want a tasty caviar that travels well at a bargain price that's different. The roe is very fine grained, almost like poppy seed but it has a nice crunch and a mild pleasant flavor. It may be unsuitable if you plan to entertain royalty but my family loves it. Want to dress up a deviled egg or baked potato? Sprinkle some on a canape? It's great stuff,

We really enjoyed it. We bought a multi-pack :)
We first bought this because we found a jar at a bargain market. I did a whole classic caviar setup for my fiancee's birthday (homemade potato blinis, lemon flesh, capers, creme fresh, finely chopped red onion & separated/chopped boiled egg yolk /whites). It turned out so tasty! The eggs are extremely small, and have that nice pop that you expect. It isn't too salty... just enough. I'm not rich enough to be a caviar expert, but I definitely recommend this product.

Tasty Caviar
While Capelin Caviar is smaller than Lumpfish Caviar, it still has a nice taste and texture. While I prefer Lumpfish when having caviar and scrambled eggs, this Capelin Caviar was just delightful in this configuration: Top a water cracker with a spoonful of canned, red salmon, a dollop of sour cream, and a generous helping of caviar. Eat and repeat. Will be purchasing this caviar again.

I ordered these in spite of a few poor reviews. These were good on crackers and cream cheese. They were of mild flavor, not very salty. If you want a traditional strong flavor, spend more $$. For mild that everyone else can enjoy across the menu, they fit the bill..

I'm still going through the first jar and I have to say it is better than the one I buy from Walmart (this is the only caviar I can compare it too since they fall under same price category). Very good texture and flavor for the price and it is not too salty, great with avocados and baked green plantains all with a bit of sour cream :D. This caviar hasn't turned green on me as another customer pointed out. I will definitely buy again!

OK, pretty good
So, we have been lucky enough to attend a few caviar tastings. While I agree that if you are looking for the "burst" this may not satisfy, the flavor is great. I don't like a "fishy" taste in my caviar (ironic, yes...). This has a nice flavor. We had it with creme fraiche and plain crackers. Delicious.

I cannot recommend this product. It's disgusting and full of dye. Highly disappointed.
I tried it, the eggs are very chewy and shouldn't be. I'm pretty sure it's all the preservatives and dye they add to it which made the texture tough. Anyone who's had real caviar or salmon roe in sushi etc. know that the eggs shouldn't be very chewy. Also the amount of dye they add to it is ridiculous.# Pros- None...# Cons- Amount of dye, made poop turn purplish.- Taste. It doesn't taste like caviar.- No expiration date on any of the jars or package.Do yourself a favor and do not buy this product. Instead go to your local European / Asian international foods store first to see if they have caviar. It might cost a little more but it won't have all the nasty dyes in it and taste like... caviar.I don't understand how this product has such high rated reviews. Maybe it's folks who've never had caviar before? I just threw out the remaining jars that have no expiration date on them.
