It's a water bottle
I purchased the 16.5 ounce version with the black sleeve, mainly because the 22 ounce (being 2 inches taller) wouldn't fit in my backpack's bottle compartment. This is probably the most perfect water bottle you could buy. Being glass, if you accidentally leave this in your car and not have to worry that on a hot day plastics won't break down into your water. It fits in my cupholder just fine and because of the silicone it doesn't bounce or wobble around on the drive. Also, because it's a glass bottle you can put any sort of juice or any hot drink in it and you won't get a metallic taste from a stainless steel bottle, or plastic chemicals, etc. In fact - if you really want to, you can stick this in your microwave to heat up the water and drop a tea bag in there. Of course it won't stay warm for very long but you still get some caffeine or healthy compounds in your water if you're a health nut. The mouth piece of the bottle is not too big and not too small. I find it to be very comfortable to drink out of. Nothing leaks out when it's closed. The clip is a nice addition as it makes it easier to hold with a finger instead of gripping the entire bottle.I did read some of the negative reviews here before I purchased the bottle, and I'll comment on some of the noted "problems." Silicone rubber attracts small light particles, ie. dust. There is no way around it sadly besides not getting the black one so the dust won't be very visible. But it is a common occurrence with cell phone cases and such so it's not a big deal. You should be cleaning a reusable drinking bottle often anyway. The good part about the silicone sleeve is that it provides a very good grip so the bottle won't slip out of your hand or slide off a table, and plus it provides some shock absorption if you drop it so it's less likely to shatter. There is a factory-made rubber smell when this comes in. Doesn't a brand new car have a smell too? It goes away. Mine was hardly noticeable after washing it with soap which you should do upon receiving anything new. And I'm referring to the silicone sleeve, the interior is glass and does not have any scent after washing. This is also not a thermos, it's a glass water bottle, so it should not keep your coffee warm for very long at all but I have not tried it. It's not heavy. The 16.5 ounce version weighs 2 pounds when it's full, 1 pound when it's empty. Literally about a pound heavier than a standard 16oz bottle of water; if you need reference stack 2 bottles of water in your hand and that's how much it weighs full.Overall this is a great reusable everyday water bottle if you're looking for something that will not contaminate your drink regardless of content or temperature. It will break if you drop it on a hard surface such as marble or concrete, but I'm not going to test that tolerance myself... However it should be fine on soft grounds like dirt if you go hiking and it slips. You know you're buying a glass bottle so you have to be careful with it! Only downside is it's a little pricey at $19 but what can you do.

Finally found the perfect bottle
After trying lots of water bottles, I've finally found the perfect combination of size, materials and features. I've never liked drinking out of plastic or stainless water bottles, but I never thought a glass bottle would be robust enough to go everywhere. That is, until I tried this one. The silicone sleeve gives me the confidence to go from home to car to gym to office to clipped onto my messenger bag without much concern. The wide mouth makes drinking easy and is large enough to accept ice cubes. The plastic clip ring comes in handy when your hands are full and the cap feels solid and closes tight. The 16 oz size is great for car and gym equipment cup holders and unobtrusive when clipped onto a bag or in an outer pouch, although if you consume a lot of water, you'll find yourself refilling often.

A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY
Almost $20 for a glass bottle and sticky plastic. The reason I point out "sticky plastic" is because it doesn't go well into a backpack or bike water bottle holder. It sticks and tears the back pack water bottle pocket. I probably should return it, but a return is a lot of effort for $20. It takes a trip to UPS or sitting at home waiting for them to come pick it up. Is your whole day off from work worth only $20? I recommend that you just DON'T BUY!!!

Great Bottle with Three Minor Flaws
Bottle looks great and doesn't leak. However there are three minor flaws, that are a bit annoying:1) The silicone sleeving can allow water to get inbetween it and the glass when washing it. The sleeve can be removed but it takes about 5 min to put back on. The "modern" bottle design may be a bit easier to deal with in this respect, but I liked the look of the "classic" more.2) The silicone seal in the cap does leave a bit of a taste, but my bottle is new, so hopefully that goes away over time.3) Although the bottle doesn't leak, some liquid can get past the seal and onto the threads of the bottle and cap. Not a major concern, but can be annoying if you're OCD as I'm sure I am.Overall, it's a cool and unique bottle, but I've already ordered a "bamboo bottle" to see if it's at least a little easier to clean.

Stout, like an old milk bottle.
Nice thick glass. Seems pretty sturdy. And the cap is a very stout plastic that looks like it will hold up well. The opening is wide enough for a bottle brush to fit inside for cleaning. And it can fit the long, skinny type of ice cubes that come from my refrigerator's icemaker. That's a big plus for me. I knocked off one star because it doesn't come as pictured with the loop under the cap. So it's just going to be carried in the hand or in a pocket; it can't be clipped onto something with a carabiner like I expected. But it's pretty small (only 12 ounces) so it fits in all cup holders and backpack bottle pockets. All in all, I like it a lot.

Amazing! Everything I wanted
I read a lot of the reviews for this bottle before buying but I have not had an issue with any of the problems mentioned. Water tastes great weeks after purchasing. I don't find the ring latch bothersome at all, and even if you somehow had a giant chin, you can easily loop a finger around it to hold it out of the way. The sleeve protects the glass well but also gives you just enough of a window to see how much water is left. The weight reminds you that the bottle is glass while not feeling cumbersome. I would recommend buying a brush to clean the inside as you will eventually want to clean it and you definitely won't get in there with a sponge. Finally, it just looks great. Functionally and aesthetically very well designed.
