There was a little room to spare and the zipper, which seems sturdy, zipped with no issues. I feel confident that anything I put in these will remain free of dust and bugs, and I may put a scented dryer sheet in each one so there's no musty smell. They do have a slight plastic smell similar to a pool toy, but it's not bad and should fade. These are made of a thick plastic and I don't think they will tear easily. The handles on the ends are very useful. I measured the depth and height of my shelves to make sure the cubes would fit correctly and they're perfect for my linen closet and the high shelves in my clothes closet. These come folded and it takes a few minutes per cube to unfold them and get the sides standing upright, but it was easy.
