This book was considered extremely important in the Order of the Golden Dawn and particularly amongst the Thelemic orders promoted by early twentieth century magical adept and mystic Aleister Crowley. It’s the Holy Oil of the Aspiration of the Magician. Not an essential oil. You anoint yourself and your tools. **Q: Does this contain any water?** A: Doesn’t seem to. I’ve had my little bottle for a while now and I only use it sparingly. The bottle is small, but I have not noticed any sort of separation. It’s a good quality and seems to follow the recipe (correct smell and consistency in my opinion, but I’m no expert). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality anointing oil *by R***N on May 11, 2025* I purchased both versions of the Abramelin oil, and while I cannot confirm that they were produced strictly according to the prescribed formulas, they certainly seem to be correct. Although, I believe the labels may have been swapped, as the vial with the unicursal hexagram contains the oil that I believe to be the biblical blend, while the other contains the Crowley/Mathers blend (if the labels are even intended to indicate specific products). In any case, a simple consecration makes these oils perfectly suitable for ritual use. The quality seems good. The aroma is correct. Nice product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super *by A***R on August 12, 2019* I didn't use this for the Abramelin ritual but just as a general-use magical oil. Sorry to disappoint any reader wanting to know how that goes. I feel a little bad for the maker of the oil to not be using this for the ritual but I don't have that much free time. I mainly bought this because I didn't want to spend the extra money on the ingredients to make it myself, so this oil is a great value on both time and money. This oil smells amazing, although wait a bit after using it on yourself after taking a shower or else it will slightly burn the skin, I assume from reacting with water. It doesn't completely dry like olive oil does but you can coat a blade in it too.
