Q: This model is S327TL?

Under 'About device' in my phone Model number is SM-S327VL. This has Android 6.0.1 installed. On the back of the Total Wireless box it has TEXT S327VL TO 611611 to learn about this phone. I also own another Galaxy J3 Luna Pro from Simple Mobile that is Model number SM-S337TL, Android 7 installed. On their box it says TEXT S337TL TO 611611 to learn about this phone. The answer to your question, is this model S327TL? is No. But I hope this info helps.

Q: I want to use this phone as a wifi only device and for my music so i don't burn through my cell battery. does it require any activation or sim card?

There is no activation or SIM card needed if you are using it as a WiFi device. I bought them to use as WiFi devices for our school's VR glasses. They work great.

Q: if unlocked will it work with att carrier

It is NOT unlocked, it locked to Total Wireless or Tracfone. beside even it is unlocked can't use with ATT, it is a CDMA phone and ATT use GSM phone. The Simple Mobile Luna Pro model is GSM phone, BUT that is NOT unlocked ever, it will work with ATT if you can unlock it.
