The photo of this chin curtain is incorrect
The photo of this chin curtain does not represent the chin curtain that you will receive. Go to motorcyclegear.com to see the correct photo of this chin curtain. I have purchased two of these chin curtains for my HJC CL Max II helmet. The chin curtain has two plastic hooks that attach to the inside of the helmet. The left and right tips of the chin curtain are made to attach/stick to the lower edge of the fabric of the helmet liner that is inside the helmet. The chin curtain works great and you can't see the curtain from the outside of the helmet. The chin curtain does not have to be removed prior to pressing the release button to raise the front of the helmet. After closing the helmet, the tips of the chin curtain will have to be pressed/reattached to the helmet liner fabric.

game changer
Honestly, this thing is just a flimsy piece of plastic and some spandex. I thought I got scammed, BUT, I installed it anyway. Fits great, doesn't fall off and most important its like I have a whole new helmet. I was literally shopping for a better helmet when I got this thing, and now I love my helmet. HJC should include this with all their helmets. Much quieter.

Is a far from ideal fit on my IS MAX ...
Is a far from ideal fit on my IS MAX BT helmet, the curtain clips in to the chin bar and velcros to the cloth helmet liner pads. It does immensly cut down on wind flowing into the helmet and kept my face warm on my 30 minute commute in 30 degree weather, it also does reduce wind noise. I have to unvelcro it, open my helmet, put the helmet on, close the lid, then reattach the velcro. All in all, worth the $7 to keep my face warm on cold rides but unlikely to remain on my helmet come summer.

because it wasn't as good as I expected
I gave it a three, because it wasn't as good as I expected. It attaches to the helmet fine, but the 2 flaps on the sides don't have anything to attach them to the pads underneath the helmet. If you don't rig them with something( like Velcro to make it easy to attach and detach) then they'll flap in the wind. It didn't really change the wind noise either, however it lessens the wind in your face. For about $6 ish it's alright

not for is max bt helmet
its not really designed for the hjc is max bt. the ends of the thing will get caught in your flip down visor part. there's a form of velcro on the ends of those tips, indicating they were meant for a fabric, not the plastic type of surface that is on the hjc is max bt helmet.since the tips don't have anything to stick to, they end up hanging down and flapping around in the wind.

Helps quiet down a very noise helmet
The CL-MAX2 is far from a perfect helmet. One of the biggest issues, as with most modulars, is wind noise. Opening and closing vents makes nearly no difference in flow and noise. The chin curtain listed here makes the helmet significantly quieter and decreases wind flow into the helmet. It isn't particularly sturdy and fits into the helmet a bit awkwardly, but makes a lot of difference. Well worth the money in that alone.

Don't believe the sample picture
Definitely not what is pictured. What you get is a factory HJC product that clicked in securely to my IS-MAX BT with a thick piece of rubbery plastic that holds the thick neoprene curtain in place. 53*F on according to the weather site, and my face stayed nice and warm at 75MPH on the highway. Definitely worth the $7
