This is just weaved plastic and it's important to know you should cut it with heat or melt it immediately once you cut it. I cut it with scissors and it quickly started to unravel on the ends. Not a huge issue in my installation but with a more complex install it would have been a real problem. I ran my wire through then used heat shrink on the ends for a clean look and to try and keep it from unraveling more.
