I presume it will do as I have never had a problem with my chincillas. However, they just like to chew cardboard boxes and never plastic thank goodness!

Yes, my ferrets were seven weeks old, I kept them on the ground floor until they could do the ladders, it's the best cage ever, easy to clean and plenty of room.

It's actually quite a short ramp, but I suppose it depnds on how far apart your floors are. Mine only works because I rested it on an archway next to the plasic hide away area tha my double tier hutch came with...even then he doens't use it...the little fatty.
