Once I added all the ingredients, I followed the simple two steps, turn on the machine and set it to making ice-cream. It's that easy! Both batches of gelato were done in a relatively quick period of time, less than 40 minutes and it was ready to eat. The gelato is super smooth and delicious, probably some of the best gelato I've had, including what I ate when touring Italy several years ago. I am delighted with this ice cream maker. After about 5 minutes of assembling simple ingredients, I start the machine and sit down with a book to wait for deliciousness to be ready. The machine noise level is low. Maintenance is easy, although the dishwasher cannot be used. The instructions clear and easy to follow. The end product benefits from an hour or two in the freezer. So far, I'm made vanilla, fresh blueberry, and cream cheese ice creams, fresh strawberry frozen yogurt, and lemon and lime sorbets.
