Quality lego F1 set great for enthusiasts
This LEGO City F1 Display Truck with Audi F1 Race Car (60493) is a fantastic set, especially for kids who enjoy motorsport or Formula 1. The build itself is very enjoyable and typical of LEGO quality – the instructions are clear and the pieces fit together perfectly. It’s a great balance where it’s interesting enough to build but not overly complicated for the recommended age range. The display truck is the highlight of the set. It looks great once completed and has some nice details including the cab, storage areas and multiple wheels that give it a realistic transporter look. The lifting platform function is a great feature, allowing the F1 car to be lowered down from the truck which adds a fun interactive element during play. The Audi F1 car itself looks brilliant and is nicely detailed for the scale. It fits perfectly on the transporter and feels like a proper race car rather than just a simple toy vehicle. You also get three minifigures – the driver and two pit crew members, which adds extra play value. Kids can easily imagine race day scenarios with the car arriving on the truck before heading out onto the track. Overall this is another top-quality LEGO set with great playability and display value. It would make a great gift for any young motorsport or F1 fan, and it’s a really fun build for both kids and adults.

Easy to assemble with a good amount of play value
Lego F1 branded transporter with an Audi branded figure and racing car. Note this is a simplified Lego City style F1 car not a Speed Champ one. It was relatively straightforward to assembly. There are no stickers in this set. I only had to help out a few times, there are a couple of grey pieces that are quite stiff to slide on. The instructions are up to Lego's usual standard and this was the first Lego kit we have had with the new paper bags instead of the clear plastic ones. I did find with these you have to be careful as small parts can get caught in them and the bags not being clear you might miss bits. The set has a lot of play value. The way the car lift works is simple but clever, the 4 doors on the transporter all open as does the bonnet showing the engine and the cab roof can also be easily removed to fit two figures inside. As the transporter has a long wheelbase it can't really be turned in a circle. The car lift hasn’t got a lock on it to keep it closed and as it was picked up by the back constantly allowing the rest of the transporter to hang it might have been useful if it had. Overall I think this is a well thought out and put together Lego City set that would give lots of enjoyment to the owner. I don’t know how much of the cost of this set is the F1 and Audi licence but with two vehicles and 3 mini figures, it being Lego and everything being more expensive this year it seems reasonable value (a single Lego City F1 car has a RRP of £11 on Amazon).

A Solid Points Finish, Not a Race Winner
As an adult I completely missed the whole LEGO craze during lockdown — mostly because of the prices. As a keen model maker I always found better‑value kits elsewhere, but I decided to give this smaller set a punt to finally see what all the fuss was about. Consider this my own little sprint into the world of LEGO. First impressions were mixed. I really disliked the rip‑open carton; for a brand with such a huge collector following, it feels odd that LEGO still uses packaging you can’t open neatly. Even jigsaw boxes feel more premium. Emptying the contents was better: I liked the paper bags instead of plastic, and the manuals felt reassuringly thick — a good start to the qualifying session. I started with the car, and I immediately loved how each stage was bagged in order. The manual is one of the clearest I’ve ever used in any model kit — genuinely foolproof. It’s simple enough for a child to follow, yet still satisfying for an adult. I flew through the steps at full throttle and had the car built in no time. The main truck was more involved, as the thicker manual suggested. It took me a few hours while watching TV, but again the process was extremely straightforward. One thing that stood out was how each step strengthened the structure; the finished lorry feels mostly solid and well thought‑out. No unexpected pit stops required. The end result is pleasing, but as an F1 fan I wasn’t blown away. The Audi car obviously had no sponsor at the time of production, but even so it feels quite generic — a couple of Audi logos and some block colours don’t really capture the character of a real F1 machine. The truck is similar, with only two F1 stickers on the front panels. And compared with LEGO’s own Speed Champions range, the detail just isn’t there. The wings, shaping, and overall construction are worlds apart. This set feels more like a generic “F1‑ish” theme with a few token splashes rather than a podium‑worthy replica. That said, taking my F1‑fan hat off and putting my inner‑child hat on, I would have absolutely loved this as a kid. It’s fun to build, fun to play with, and the truck in particular has a great presence. Compared with some of the cheaper off‑brand brick kits, I can finally see what the LEGO fuss is about. From the start to the finish straight I lapped this up and never got tired of it. Value‑wise, you’re mostly paying for the truck — it’s clearly the bulk of the set and it’s a good size. If you’re a LEGO fan, it’s decent enough. Overall I’m glad I finally got the chance to try a LEGO kit. I genuinely got to see what all the fuss was about, and I’ll definitely be on the James Hunt for more F1 sets — especially the Speed Champions range. This may not be a race winner, but it’s certainly a solid points finisher.

fantastic item
This set is a standout addition to the LEGO City line. The combination of a detailed F1‑style race car and a fully functional display truck makes it feel like two sets in one. It’s engaging to build, fun to play with, and looks impressive on display—perfect for kids who love racing or anyone who enjoys LEGO vehicles.

Excellent Audi race car and truck set
Audi F1 meets Lego This F1 truck and race car is an awesome set. Super fun to build a I really like the play features including the loading ramp and the revealing engine. The build is fairly simple and uses different techniques to make the experience less repetitive. Each minifigure is highly details and there isn’t a single sticker which is rare with recent Lego sets, so the printed tiles are excellent. The price to piece ratio is about right which makes this set good value for money. The truck is a decent size and once build is strong and sturdy making it great for play. The race care design is clever and has a good likeness to the real thing. Standard high quality Lego parts. Highly recommend
