The new mop head design has strong elastic bands on the corners and I like them much better than the original Velcro, easier to get on the mop and stay better. (But see below -- I don't put them in my washer--) The material sucks up amazing amounts of dirt and I don't need to dirty my washing machine with them -- a good hosing off with a strong stream takes the dirt (not necessarily its stains, but the mops only need to be cleaner than the floor, right?). They're so absorbent that you may need to wet them (lightly) so they glide and don't just suck up the cleaning spray. The imitation O'Cedar heads shipped "by mistake" wouldn't go on my (genuine) O'Cedar mop -- make sure your'e getting the real thing when you order.
