Purchased to use as an OctoPrint camera for 3D printing, but the range of its fixed focus was not compatible with the close distance between the mounting point and the bed. Also, it was significantly challenged by the reduced light conditions of the chamber enclosure. I have since repurposed this camera as a conference cam. which is much better suited to its capability.

ordered the new cam with the hope it would come with an installation disc including software comparable to the software that came with my original LifeCam 3.5. No such luck. No disc--no software

Don't buy this: red picture and won't attach to monitor
I was incredibly disappointed with this webcam. The picture quality is all red, or dark. Because it's a Microsoft camera, if you are running Windows 10, there is no longer an app that allows you to adjust this. Microsoft thinks that you should just be happy with it. Also this thing doesn't hold on to the monitor. Until a new one from Logitech arrives, I've literally got it duct-taped. Just avoid this one.
