Great Device
This is my first GPS logger, but so far I'm very happy with it. I bought it just in time for a trip to the Puget Sound. This thing worked like a charm, be it Olympic Nat'l Park, Victoria, or Seattle. The only place I had a problem was in the EMP in Seattle, and that was surly due to the thick interior walls. The software works as it should. Because I shoot RAW, and I use gpicsync to actually write the data to the EXIF, but as far as getting the data, the included software works perfectly.Oh, and the battery life is amazing. I would usually charge this every night, but it could easily go a couple days (being turned off at night).Haven't used the Bluetooth feature, can't really think of any uses as this point.

Good Tracker but Software needs some work
Does what its supposed to do, tracks GPS coordinates. Battery life great. The problem I encountered is with the QTravel software provided with the unit. Software is able to capture data points from unit, but when I tried to export to a GPX file so I could import into Lightroom I found the resulting file was missing large chuncks of data. I spent a lot of time with their support staff, they not the most responsive but willing to try to help, We were able to determine that there was a bug in QTravel, but Qstarz Data Viewer, also provided, would export correctly. I asked when Qtravel software would be updated, but got no response. All in all, its working for my purpose and I'm happy with it now.

A quick impression: (will be followed later with a more detailed opinion)
I own many GPSs but was attracted to this becuase of excellent review, its size, battery life and its dual log/nav function. So, got and try for about a week!1. Tracking accuracy and sensitivity! This is the best i ever had (compared to Garmin forerunner 310, foretrex210, 60GPSSCx,of course the older models). Tracking in thick canopy is very good, and correct when even my forerunner 310, used to be my best portable in sensitivity, started to drift. (I did a crude experiment of putting the unit in my pocket while driving, and it tracked correctly! amazing)2 Bluetooth connectivity - no problem - but I cannot to get to work with my Mobile PC nav prog. (maybe it is user fault - will report back here later)3 Accompany delicated software - simple and work (window environment) - just plain vanilla.4 Geotagging with the delicated software is so-so. As reported by some others, it sometimes hit-n-miss, photo can be tag some distance away though the track log is accurate. Spend sometime figuring and playing with this - it is likely the software tag algorithm issue! Disappointed with this (there are ways around with other program - but that is not the point here).5. Connection/communication with PC, someimes units not detectable. I just have to switch off and on again! For me the tracking accuracy, sensitivity and long battery life is much more important than the rest. For these 3 attributes, it can get 5.5 star. But as a product, i can only rate it as 4 star because of the imperfection as listed. The errors in geotagging (not all the photos) can make the picky users, who are not so familiar with computer stuff, irritated.I will play with it for awhile and come back with more detail and actual experience.

This is probably the best GPS Logger on the market
This is probably the best GPS Logger on the market. I purchased a pair of these in 2008 to geotag my photographs. The tracks are saved gpx files then read into the images using Photo Mechanic. The units are incredibly reliable. A couple years ago I replaced the batteries with off the shelf replacement telephone batteries. They can keep recording data for several days. I offload the tracks and update my pictures daily. I never attempted to geotag images using Qstarz's software. I am sure it would work for jpg files but not likely for RAW files.

Not many alternatives out there
This is the third unit I bought. First one lasted ca. 4 years the second less than 1 failing with an intermittent on/off switch. Could probably be repaired There are not many other devices like this in the market, at least I couldn't find one. I wanted the capability to put the device into my pocket and track a hike, or road trip. For that it's great and the battery outlasts any phone apps. Would be 5stars if the devices would not die from mechanical failures.
