MICRO CREW HEIGHT Sitting near mid-calf , it’s the best sock height for everyday casual and dress. A shorter, more concise take on the traditional crew height. Peeks just above the top of a standard hiking boot. ULTIMATE COMFORT No slipping, no bunching, and no blisters. The ultimate fiber for breathability and comfort in all conditions, the All Weather Performance means cool in the summer, warm in the winter. CUSHION DENSITY Mid-level cushion density. A warm and ultra-comfortable choice when conditions demand it. Increased breathability with mesh panels on top of the foot, a new smooth ribbing upper that stays put forever, and extended cushion over the Achilles. TRUE SEAMLESS Undetectable seam fusion for an ultra smooth, invisible feel. Darn Tough uses high density knitting techniques, which means there are more stitches per inch. This leads to a more comfortable, durable, great fitting sock with no added bulk. SUSTAINABILITY Darn Tough aims to improve the well-being of our community by locally designing and manufacturing the most comfortable, durable, best fitting socks while continuously reducing our environmental impacts. MATERIALS IN OUR SOCKS Every material we use in our socks has been carefully chosen and tested to meet our rigorous durability standards. We currently use natural and synthetic fibers, and only 3 types of fiber per sock. As you’d expect, we are actively investigating and trying out new fibers and yarn blends that do not appear in our current products. We’ve prioritized Merino wool throughout our product lines and our goal of producing the most responsibly made product is reflected in our commitment to the success of the Responsible-Wool Standard. MERINO WOOL Merino wool is the most important and relied upon fiber in our products and accounted for 56% of our yarn consumption by weight last year. For many years we’ve prioritized the use of Merino wool exclusively from sheep that have not been exposed to the practice of mulesing. In early 2019 we made a commitment to support the ResponsibleWool Standard and shift 100% of our wool supply. It is a voluntary standard with strict guidelines to protect animal welfare and adhere to progressive, sustainable farm and land management practices while maintaining traceability throughout the entire supply chain. RECYCLED NYLON We use REPREVE, a nylon 6 fiber made from pre-consumer industrial waste that would otherwise be landfilled or downcycled. Using REPREVE instead of virgin nylon allows us to offset the use of crude oil, benzene, cyclohexane, and other harmful hydrocarbons that are involved in the production of virgin fiber. In short, using recycled nylon conserves energy and water and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing. While we aim to reduce our use of virgin nylon in our products, recycled nylon only accounted for 4% of our nylon consumption last year. We’re actively working with our suppliers to source more recycled nylon so we can incorporate it across our product lines. To date, nylons generated from pre-consumer waste material have held up well against our durability requirements, but we’d like to find an equally good source of post-consumer recycled nylon or yarns that blend both pre and post-consumer nylon. SPANDEX/ELASTANE We use Lycra to provide elasticity, strength, and form-fitting comfort. While spandex accounts for no more than 5% of the fiber used in our finished product, it represented 27% of the raw materials we procured last year. Like conventional nylon, spandex is derived from petroleum and has been important to the performance of our products. Unfortunately, it’s the most difficult material in our fiber mix to replace with a recycled alternative. When it comes to synthetics, we’re primarily focused on converting virgin nylon and polyester to recycled alternatives. However, we’re also looking for functional, recycled spandex alternatives. SOCK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks. STILL MADE IN VERMONT, USA After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We do it because for us, it’s the only way to do it. Review: Outstanding socks - A great pair of socks. Honestly when you receive them you get the *don't seem so special* though as you get themnon their own with a piece of cardboard to keep them together. Then you try them and you understand how they really are different from most if not all. They're warm, but also a cool feeling so you don't sweat, then the size is good if you buy the right size.. Zero rubbing or blisters so far after a few days wear. I don't get smelly feet anyway but I can imagine a week's wear in them if I wanted to. Washed perfectly fine. As for durability? I'm still to find out exactly, but they do seem like they'll last. Lifetime garunteed swap is extremely reassuring either way. Cost is the debate, very expensive, but when you take in to account the quality that is undoubted alongside the lifetime garunteed swap, it's a no brainer. I'll gradually be getting more so I'll be set for life.

These socks can be distinguished from any others that I have come across by the very high quality of their construction and the high thread count. Admittedly I have not owned them for a long time but they have been washed twice and not changed in size and from day one on long mountainous walks have been extremely comfortable. Yes they do come at a premium price but on my short experience of them they are well worth it. I would particularly recommend them to people who suffer from calluses and ridges of hard skin on the sole of their feet - the cushioning from these socks is outstanding.

A great pair of socks. Honestly when you receive them you get the *don't seem so special* though as you get themnon their own with a piece of cardboard to keep them together.
