Horrible dishwasher and even worse customer service! Stay away from GE!
Terrible ! Purchased Dec. 2012 @$1400. I figured for that price, should last long time and work like a swiss watch. But no, it stopped working Sept. 2016. Less than 4 years ! And to make it worse, GE did not cover me under their 5 year ltd. warranty. They charge you $100 to come out to just look at unit to see whats wrong and give an estimate. Then if you decide to repair, you have 30 days to do so. I should have realized that that sounded a little weird. The control lit up red and stated "no detergent" even though had detergent and it would not spray water. Repairman showed up without a toolbox. Should have been a dead give away. Then he gave me a repair estimate of $500! Said I should probably just buy a new one. Yeah, right. I paid $100 for that advice. He said it was water inlet valve that needed replacement and said nothing about the red light which was covered by warranty. He asked if I had ever used the liquid detergent and I told him I had not. GE does not stand behind their ridiculously priced dishwashers. Will never buy another GE product. As if paying $1400 for a dishwasher that only lasted less than 4 years wasn't bad enough, they took another $100 from me to tell me it was broken. They lost this customer forever. I wouldn't even buy a GE light bulb now.

Not Made Like They Used To Be...
This review won't show up as me being a verified buyer from Amazon, as I didn't purchase here, but directly from GE. I had received an e-mail advertisement for a sale GE was having, so at a decent sale price, I took the plunge. My review, as follows, I had attempted to post on the GE website, but was declined because it didn't meet their "criteria" for posting (read: they don't like objective, negative reviews). My review as follows:Purchased this one to replace basically the same model (new one has a few more features) that was about 12 years old. Can't say with all certainty, but since GE appliances are owned by a Chinese company now, it has impacted the quality most definitely! Smaller (say cheaper) internal components, thinner gauge metal throughout (the entire door flexes if the handle is pulled from anywhere but dead center because the door panels are so thin now). Holes do not line up with the brackets for mounting on cabinet sides. Plastic trim pieces that do not fit into a standard cabinet opening (they're MUCH too wide). A sheet metal tray that fits underneath the machine in case of leakage was a nightmare to install (the tabs on it do not line up with the frame mounting slots). Took over an hour of playing with it to get it into place. Dubious built-in "features" (do I REALLY need to have an app on my phone to tell me how much time is remaining on the wash cycle?). Based on materials, components, and construction, I hardly think this one will make it much longer than the warranty... This was purchased because of the Profile series matching the other Profile series appliances. When those go out, the replacements will NOT be GE! Performance of the machine - it is quiet. I thoroughly rinse dishes before placing them in the dishwasher, so I really can't say how well it cleans.

GE Profile Pretty but not Reliable.
My dishwasher is 1.5 years old, used no more than 30 times and the display panel went bad. I was told the these do not dry all the way, especially plastics or cups. I usually dry these by hand. I have to prewash plates before running a load. It will not allow to run only a part of a cycle. Worst expensive mashiine ever. My previous Magic Chef was loud but did the job right the first time around. My loss
