Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 4870X2 VGA Cooler for ATI Radeon HD4870X2

Although the original fan for the 4870X2 is copper, it is only single wide; as a result, not enough air moves through the heat sink to keep the card cool; the way ATI wrote the fan speed control didnt help- it was either low(and quiet) or jet-like. Replacing the fan was easy with the instructions, and once installed, the temperature as well as fan noise dropped significantly. The original fan on the card was the loudest fan in my system; now the video card is among one of the quieter fans. Even at full bore, it's much quieter than the original fan was. Highly Recommended!

Excellent product. Worth every penny. I was getting 80C on idle with automatic fan. I would have to raise the fan to 40% to lower the temp to 50C. Now with this cooler, the auto setting is 27% fan speed and temp is 38C. It is now so quiet that I can hear the cpu fan over the video card fan even witht the video card fan at 100%. All I can say is incredible. The only bad thing is that the X shaped spring loaded brackets were very hard to get back on. I had to pop off the little plastic spacers at the tips next to the screws to install the brackets. Still, this item deserves 5 stars.

It works! Keep my video card very cool and quiet. The fan noise is a big difference compare to the stock fans. This one is very quiet. Even during full screen 1080p gameplay with settings very high it is still quiet. I love it.
