Could have used less nudity and more Bunnygirls
Having more than a passing fondness for the Playboy Bunnygirl and all tributes to the look, I was pleased to find a rather good condition copy on Amazon. Looking through it though I do plan to read the text in full at my leisure, I must say that some aficionados may be disappointed that there aren't more full page full color images of the lovely girls in the Playboy Bunny outfit. There is some nudity (tasteful as it is from Playboy after all) which in my opinion is space that is wasted when it could have been used for more Bunnygirl images. The 60s in the UK was a really good time for the Bunnygirl, and it's a shame there's not really a section covering that. This book could have easily been thicker, or at least bigger in favor of making this a coffee table book. It is not a comprehensive compendium comprising of all possible official Playboy Bunnygirl images - maybe something to consider for the 60th year? What IS in this book though is well presented. A nice companion book to The Bunny Years, and hopefully not the last book on the subject. There could easily be more material considering how Japan took on the Bunnygirl and elevated her to incredible heights with the style.

It's not a picture book.
Don't buy this for the bunny pictures, there aren't that many. The book is mostly text. If you want to read up on the various aspects of Playboys history, the beginnings, it's various clubs, it's airborne adventures, it's political aims throughout the years, then this book is for you. I can almost guarantee your blood pressure will remain stable throughout.

Bunnies were like stewardesses back then
A lovely account of the oft-misunderstood Playboy Clubs from a bunny's-eye view. Bunnies were like stewardesses back then: it was one of the few jobs where an independent woman from a blue-collar background could make a lot of money and have opportunities for travel, in a safe upscale environment. And their stories are fascinating windows into the early 60s through mid-80s.

A few priceless photos within, but not much else
If your looking for photos, there is quite a few. Debbie Harry and other bunnies stand out amongst the lot. Not much choice material. A lot of retro memorabilia photos, as to say this is not a tribute to bunnies, but a tribute to the mansion and club.

Interesting history of the Playboy clubs and the bunnies there ...
Interesting history of the Playboy clubs and the bunnies there.Lots of photos from ~1960 to late 80's or so.The text is a bit light, but I wasn't looking for a thesis, just a bit of background. It talks about the new club in Las Vegas, but that one has now closed, so the book is out of date on that subject.

What a great book. I got it for the articles
What a great book. I got it for the articles, of course--no, seriously. It contains excellent back stories on the history of the clubs, and the ups and downs of the business side. I'd forgotten Playboy had tried their hand at a resort. Fascinating history!

This is a very interesting book about the world ofhe empire. Playboy and looking at ' history ' surrounding its empire. Starting off on a kitchen table in the early 50's, it was Hugh Heffners dream to come up with the ultimate ' Mens Mag ', The very first edition of Playboy magazine had no date on it, only the price, which I think was 50c, because they thought it would only last ' One Edition '. They were wrong and the Playboy Empire covered the world. Although many playboy Clubs closed in the early 90's, they have now started to appear again in ' chosen locations ', namely Las Vegas and of course, London. In the late 80's - early 90's, I was a member of the Playboy Club taking in the London location (Park Lane), and also in Los Angeles (Century City). The Playboy Club is a Upmarket Mens Club and perhaps one of the best and original.
