I have gotten a few of these and haven't had a dud yet...these are very easy to install. Key note if you don't have an already modded xbox you need a working xbox dvd drive or a friend to load files into a premade HDD.Only call out is which Bios to put on, ultimately Evox M8 plus is where I went but there are a few options. All in all Chip works great and loading new dash was a breeze.

I installed on a 1.6 system without issue. I asked in the questions section and someone said it should install on any version, but be aware it ships with m8plus_16, which afaik is only 1.6/1.6b compatible so you would probably need to reflash the chip before installing in a different system as direct boot.For reference I followed the installation suggested by thewheelman282 on youtube, which removes Pin6 to disable the standby 5v feed and direct boot from LPC, be aware this is a 256KB chip with a single bank, and be sure you flash an appropriate bios if you reflash. I ended up re-flashing the m8plus_16 bios w/ expanded drive support in order to remove the EVO banner from startup, use EVTool if you plan to do that. All in all great purchase, was nice finding a cheap quick option on Amazon

Worked Perfectly. Very easy to install on any revision other than a 1.6. On a 1.6 you will need to rebuild the lpc (they sell qsb's to make this easier now). All in all a great experience

No es realmente el chip 49LF020A, es un 49LF002A y este no se deja programar desde la consola, es decir este Aladdin XT-4032 es una copia barata que solo sirve para tener un firmware diferente al original pero muy obsoleto, no se deja programar, la version que trae grabada no permite poner discos duros de mas de 160 gigas, no permite tener la undad G activada, la unica forma de usarlo es programandolo con un programador externo que si no se tiene es muuuy costoso. La verdad no vale la pena.

They do the trick but on a 1.6 board they are a real pain to get working right. A small design change on the pin header would make it all easier.

Installed in a 1.6 with a bad hard drive, I was then able to use the hexen utility to format and unlock a new hard drive. Rebuilding the lpc is a real pain, I mean a REAL pain- because the points are so tiny, but I was able to do it in an hour or so. Mrmario showed off a board that makes rebuilding the lpc easier, but I just used wires like in wheelmans video. Seems to work great but I did not flash a new bios, im not that picky about the evox logo- I kind of like it.update, I did eventually have to update the bios (i just used the 256 bios for modchips that was on the hexen boot cd) - the reason being that the stock bios would not enable a "G" drive, so i could only use 120gb of my 240 gb until i flashed the bios to include "F&G".

Seller shipped as promised. Even for hobbies there is little information available to facilitate creative integration. Unfortunately a cursory internet search collaborates.

Works fine with a 1.6 Xbox, and does come flashed with EvoX, but you will need to update the bios to enable large hdd support. I used RetroProFrank’s video to install, though I used a different ground source for L0.
