Typically a pair a flip flops will not last the summer for me. I usually wear out a pair of tennis shoes in no more than 6 months. So any shoe or sandal that lasts half a year for me is generally OK in my book. These actually surprised me. Not only are they MUCH more comfortable than the typical foam flip flop, they are actually holding up better than my high dollar boots. Color me impressed. I purchased these in July of 2016 and I still wear them daily. Spring, summer, fall and Winter. They sit in my garage and anytime I need to go outside I slip them on and off I go. Now as another review said, there is no arch support but then what sandals do. I have flat feet so this is acutally a good thing for me. Nearly 2 years and still in great condition. I just bought another pair as I like them so much and have been expecting them to fail for nearly a year now and want to make sure I can still get them. Now that I said that they will crap out but hey I got nearly 3x the life I expected and still going. Ever, but I feel I have to on these because I bought them due to the good reviews.Out of the box they look good, I ordered a size large like everyone suggested and they fit. They even feel comfortable.So what's the problem? It has been exactly two months since I got them, (May 14th) and they are shredded. Absolutely destroyed. Now I told myself, maybe you're just rough on your flip flops? Maybe it's because you wear them down to the river and on some of the lighter trails. But then I look at my girlfriend's five dollar flip flops she got at the grocery store and they are doing fine.We even had the discussion on why spend more? And I said for the quality. Sadly I was mistaken. The main problem here is that the thong is attached to an upper layer of fabric which is glued to the actual sole. So the only thing attaching the thong to the soul really is a bit of glue, which obviously hasn't held up.I've had flip flops last me four years or more. These are greatly disappointing. The Dunas II thong sandal is (according to Rider's website) their best-selling model of men's sandals. And I would have to agree with that. The material is of quality build, and it feels very comfortable on your feet. The Dunas II has the "egg-crate" shape of padding on the insole, which I prefer over the other Dunas models. Go look at the reviews of the so-called "newer" Rider Dunas models like the Dunas V and the Dunas VII. Do they even get half the rave reviews or the sales that the Dunas II gets? Nope! Even though this Dunas II model is now more than a couple years old, it is still the hands-down favorite of many Rider fans.
