Spalding 68395W NBA Portable Basketball Hoop with 54 Inch Polycarbonate Backboard

This item was received in good condition, the instructions were well documented, and we completed assembly in about two hours. You definately need two adults, plus one or two kids to assist in assembly and uprighting the unit. Our system has been in place less than one month and it seems well built. We opted to fill the base with water and will add non-toxic anti-freeze to survive winters in northern Ohio. One complaint: there is no drain hole in the base, making it quite difficult to empty the reservoir if needed. Also, before filling base, place the unit in final position as you won't easily move it. We look forward to seeing how the system survives winter conditions.

First I ordered this thru a third party seller on Amazon, FIRST MISTAKE! Then I paid expedited shipping to have it delivery by my daughters birthday. The seller shipped it ECONOMY instead of expedited delivery. So, as you might imagine, it did not delivery until after her birthday. Then once we opened the box to start assembly we found that the polycarbonate backboard was adhered/glued improperly to the backboard frame so horribly that there was a "bubble" in the backboard that you can push in and out on. How product made it thru production in China and then past their obvious non existent quality assurance process is beyond me. I could go to Laird Plasic and buy a piece of polycarbonate and attach it better than Spalding's/Huffy factory did. I am very dissappointed and of course my daughter was as well. Now I have to pay to return this giant box to get a refund. Learn from me, don't by from third party sellers on Amazon. As if the $445.33 I have paid thus far is not enough to get a quality made product, now I have to pay for shipping and then Amazon will refund that amount back to my account once received. There are no words to describe my frustration over the poor quality of this product. The NBA should be ashamed they have picked a company with this low of quality standards to sell their licensed product. Anybody thinking about purchasing this product...consider another manufacturer or buy the glass backboard version.

It's a great product. my kids love it. one more outdoor activity and parent-child activity is that the installation will take some time

I'm very disappointed in the fact that I could not put this hoop together to save my life. the instructions are very unclear and the fact that the nuts, bolts, and screws were not number in any way shape or form on the packaging made it extremely difficult to put together it was like a guessing game and that's not how it should be done because the hoop could fall on someone if 1 part is put in the wrong place to be honest I was very frustrated I had to quit

Sturdy and easy to assemble (I had my son- in- law assemble) he does get frustrated easy.

I purchased this set for my son who has loved using it. The backboard recently shattered. Please know that the backboard would be covered under warranty for 5 years. Sadly, when I ordered the replacement I did not know that. Spalding is sorry but there is nothing they can do since I already spent $120 for the replacement and it's on the way. Lesson learned...check for warranty.

Rim was not the one pictured. No pole pad was included. Backboard is extremely thin and loud. Not the quality I thought I was getting. Assembly took several hours and I have done these before. Instructions needed to have parts numbered. Bottom line I do not recommend this hoop.
