ReliOn Premier BLU Blood Glucose Monitoring System

The media could not be loaded.  Glad I got it. I had the smaller ReliOn premier without the blue tooth. It worked fine but had it over a year and it stopped working properly. This one is great. I love the app that goes with it. After you check your sugar you take the test strip out and then you can open your app On your phone, send the new reading to your phone where it keeps track of your glucose numbers. It doesn’t come with the device that pokes your finger. You have to buy that separately. I believe they are only $5 most places. Easy directions on how to set it up. The price is doable but could cost a Little less in my opinion. Buy the test strips from Walmart because everywhere else is double the price. They sell the 50 count test strips for $10. You want to buy the ReliOn Premier test strips. They come in at $5 for 25 strips, and $10 for the 50 count at Walmart by the pharmacy. I definitely recommend this product and will buy it again when I need to. I buy this monitor not only because it’s really nice and worth the purchase, but also because with my insurance even though the monitor is free the strips are expensive. So spending $35 on this and then having such great prices on the test strips at Walmart makes this very affordable for those who are really tight with money and need something that’s great but still affordable.

I have been using this meter for a week now. I initially experienced inaccurate readings that varied up to 30 points with the same drop of blood. I found that you need to hold the test strip to the drop of blood until it beeps. Having blood fill the window of the test strip does not indicate that enough blood has been sucked into the test strip. It does seem to use a larger sample than my Relion Prime, but that may be just how it looks to me. The sample it uses is still small compared to my old meters.The meter is easy to read and inexpensive. The test strips are 25% of the cost of most brands out there. I like that it connects to my phone. The phone app could be better, but it still is better than scrolling through my readings and writing them down. Once I got it connected to my phone, the connection and sync work great.For the price, you get a meter and a carrying case only. A lancet device and strips are sold separately. That worked well for me since I have a lancet devices from all my old meters.

I compared it to my Contour Next and the results were very close each time for a day before I decided to go with it. I read that you have to touch the strap straight down vice to the side. Ok, that is cool, it is probably true to many of the meters, however, I am smart and do not read directions sometimes. lol, so, therefore I am dumb. Anyway, I am liking it so far.

I really like this one. I haven't had any problems like the other reviews have stated. No it didn't come with much, but I love that it connects to my phone and how large the numbers are. My insurance wanted me to buy a one touch and I bought it, but the numbers were so tiny and the screen was hard to see in the dark.

The meter was recording very high blood sugar in the morning. I've had my blood sugars tested before after fasting and they run around 110. The meter is saying my blood sugar is between 180 and 220 after fasting 12 hours overnight. So I bought the assured dose control solutions and what should be 80 is reading the round 200 and what should be 200 was reading well over 400. I called the 800 number in the packaging and I ended up talking to Walmart. They said someone would call back. They did but I was flying so I couldn't reply. They left a voicemail that was not helpful. I will be returning this because it is useless.

Seems like the app is not supported anymore. As a meter it's great but don't expect to log your readings with the app.
