Not Mac OS compatible out of the box, but once set up with help of tech support it's a great switch
Great switch which i would give 5 stars if Mac OS was better supported out of the box and i hadnt needed to call Netgear tech support to set up.I bought so i could link aggregate so as to double read/write speeds with my Synology DS918+ NAS. It is listed as Mac OS compatible, but i had to ring Netgear support in order to get it set-up. You get 3 months free support and i was able to set the switch up in one 50 minute phone call. The set-up issues come from Mac OS not being able to recognise it, so we had to set up the IP addresses manually, which is a massive faff that the end user shouldnt have to go through with a simple switch.Once up and running however, the switch is very simple to manage and it took less than 5 minutes link aggregation and its run seamlessly since.

Good SOHO managed switches for smaller networks, but documentation is not the best
I'll be honest. When I first got these, I didn't love them at all. I played with them, then ripped them out and replaced them with my older, unmanaged versions.I wanted managed switches so that I could put in VLANs to separate my IP telephony devices from my TVs from my computers from my wife's work computers and so on.Not knowing much about VLANs didn't help, and the documentation is not necessarily the best, but in the end these have proven to be very good.I have them working with a Linksys managed switch, various Draytek APs and firewall/routers, and with each other. It all hangs together flawlessly now, and everything is segmented beautifully. These make perfect SOHO devices for segmenting networks. If you don't need that level of segmentation - and to be honest, most homes won't - then stick with their unmanaged cousins. But if you do want to segment your TVs/Sky box/media players/IoT devices from your main computers, then these are a perfectly sensible option in a wired network.

Has Issues
Solid switch, perfect for a small office or home and a decent set of options in web configuration, new firmware available from Netgear.**Update** Well after a week of working, random port would stop working and network traffic via switch would grind to a slow crawl and only fix would be a factory reset and issue slowly returns. Emailed Netgear support twice and nothing, returning as I am not prepared to risk no support past returns period.

Cannot configue off-line
The product description states that the internet management facility is optional, and this is clearly not the case. I have used several GS108Tv2 (the previous version) and accessing the browser based user interface without internet access was never a problem. In this version, the browser based user interface is still present, but missing any useful functionality.I will change to the Cisco SG250-08 which has a similar form-factor, a fully functional browser based user interface, and a surprisingly competitive price.

So unless a bit of a network geek stick to unmanaged switches but if you understand networking it is a great little unit
Needed a managed switch to bond 2x gigabit connections together. Not a direct criticism but the web interface not the easiest to navigate due multitude of options. So unless a bit of a network geek stick to unmanaged switches but if you understand networking it is a great little unit. Took me about 10 mins to figure out how to bond two connections. Setup a couple of subnets etc and away it went. unless you have a specific reason for a managed switch functionality you probably don't need it.
