Yes you need someone with strong hands to get some of the pieces on (which kind of deters dissecting it in the future to revisit the parts). And yes the instructions are only pictures which aren't all that helpful but I liked to think of it as a puzzle anyway in which case you aren't really supposed to have directions. But ultimately I feel it was a great starting place for teaching my five year old about the brain. She spontaneously talked about her feelings in reference to her amygdala. It was fun to put it together with her and will be a great learning tool for brain basics beyond the four lobes which is all her last "model" taught.
