Best Portable Emulation Device
if you are looking for a portable dedicated emulation device look no further!, if you are like me you probably research stuff before buying specially when its coming from an unknown developer. rest assured that this product if of great quality and as of yet i have not experienced any technical issues with the device. dont be scared off by what other people say on forums, i know these devices are known to have certain issues with buttons, that has already been taken care off and like me you should receive a device thats created not only to provide hours of fun but also add some awesome nostalgia to your day. nothing gets better than to kick back and play some great oldschool games on your portable system that also doubles as a phone!, the battery life is pretty good easily getting 8 hours of screen on time, performance is great for what its designed to do emulate consoles, you will notice some hickups when cruising through the android operating system but that is mainly because of the quad core 1.3 ghz Mediatek processor and the small amount of ram included in the system it self. the system comes with JXD's Android overlay which is pretty nice, it also does a great job at managing your ram to insure you get the most out of the system. the display although not 1080p or 720p is still pretty good color reproduction is good. the system features two cameras i tested the front facing camera but the only thing i can say is that if you are interested using this device for the sole purpose of taking pictures you might want to just stick to taking pictures with your toaster because they are not good at all. besides that the system is great! i highly recommend it!

Amazing device
Excellent device. PSP doesn't run perfectly, but is doable (tested Birth by Sleep and Breath of Fire), and Sega Saturn is unplayable (may be app, not device). Only one speaker is audio, which sucks, but it is SUPER LOUD. The controls rock, and the emulators I used automatically use them, so no mapping or anything. I test Contra and Gunman Clive from the Play store (Contra is free, Clive I payed for, worth it), and mapping to the touch controls are super easy, and plays like it was meant for control use. Emulators N64 and below (including Drastic) run as if you are playing a handheld version of those console, which is a dream.I rate it 3 stars because my screen is defective, and has scan lines everywhere. Hopefully the seller replaces this unit with a better one, so I can give it the 5 stars it deservesUpdate- 10/04/2015;I replaced it through Amazon, and the device I previously received had more wrong with it than what I thought. After toying with it for almost 2 weeks, I didn't attempt to get Dreamcast and Saturn games to run, but I've test a lot more PSP and N64 games. N64 and PSP tend to be more hit or miss. Some games tend to be a little bit sluggish, but are playable, while other can ply beautifully, but the audio will be choppy. Games like Mario Kart 64 and Star Ocean Second Evolution play flawlessly. Games from both Amazon App and Play can be hit or miss. some games automatically map itself, some don't. Some are better off using buttons only, or a mix of buttons and touch screen (Dino Hunter aiming is slow with mapping, so slow precision aiming is good for stick, quick aiming with touch screen). Sonic 4 played perfectly.I don't use this phone as a phone, but as a gaming device, and I am beyond happy with my purchase. For those that intend to use it as both, it is very large (phablet size), but the buttons nor stick don't protrude enough to feel uncomfortable to the face, so if you don't mind the size, it is comfortable when press against your cheek. It is an attention grabber, and WILL get mistaken for a Vita (or "the new PSP"), but when you inform the curious, amazement will come.As a gamer for 22 years, this is a worthwhile purchase, and I intend to buy 4 more (1 for each of my children).

Good, but ended up returning it
I ended up returning it, but I was really on the fence about it. Form factor is great, most of the buttons feel good and are easy to reach. Fast processor. The d-pad is just OK, and a solid d-pad is my main requirement for a retro gaming device. Screen is IPS, but resolution is only 960 x 540 which is good for most things but some retro emulators look a little fuzzy as a result. Battery life is good, about five hours. For about the same price you can get the new GPD XD which is what I'm using now. Easily the best Android handheld I've come across, and I've tried three JXD's and an iPega 9701. The GPD XD is incredible in every way. The only reason to get the JXD S5800 at this point is if you want that particular form factor, which is a perfectly valid reason. Not everyone likes the foldout 3DS form factor. I would rank the GPD XD at # 1 and the JXD S5800 at # 2. Both are good options.
