WOW! What a great watch! No, actually it's a splendid jewelry item. Too soon to tell about the accuracy of time this piece will yield - I'll update later. First impressions out of the superb box are off the measurable scale! While admiring the box (how much do they actually spend on these boxes - incredible!), I almost heard a symphonic drum roll, and then the great reveal as I opened the box - WOW! Amazingly way better in real life than even the nice close-up zoom that Amazon allows! I blasted down to the local jewelry shop and had the bracelet sized, and now just can't take my eyes off that black dial, red 24hr GMT pointer, and posh 12-hr hands, and the oh so smooth sweep of the second hand arm. Setting the time -local date/time and the 24hr GMT hand was easy.Now a few comments about the actual purchasing process...First, the order placement went smoothly, as the normal Amazon process has become for us Prime members. Nice! The designated order-filler, Discount Watch Store, filled the order the next day and I received it in about 4 days. Unfortunately, they shipped the wrong watch. You can't imagine my disappointment - this is the most expensive watch I have acquired for myself - ever! (I'm working my way up the watch food chain - ultimately seeking an Omega De Ville, but not quite there yet). I suppose the model number was similar, but really?! The wrong watch?? OK human error happens at all levels, and this was not life threatening, yet certainly disheartening. I contacted Discount Watch Store directly, and told them of the error. Of course, they were ever so sorry sorry sorry. I was told they did not have this model in stock (what!? It was sold to me via Amazon - and you don't have it in stock??), but they could check with Orient directly. They did indeed, and yes imagine-that, Orient had my desired model in stock. Here's where Discount Watch Store really redeemed themselves - they arranged for a 2nd-day UPS Air delivery, at their expense. And voila - it arrived today and I couldn't be happier!!!

Looked good while it worked. But somehow the pin attached to the crown has rusted and broke. Looks like poor design to me for a 600$ watch.

This is the Orient Star flagship watch. It has features such as a a sapphire crystal, reserved power indicator, manual handwinding, and hacking. This is a GMT watch, meaning it has a fourth time hand on the dial, which indicates a secondary time zone. The outer ring can be rotated to adjust your time zone offset even further.The dial is intricately detailed and has a very nice depth effect, where you can see each hand "floating" at a different depth.The only complaint is that the band lug width is 21mm, which is an uncommon size.Overall, there aren't many watches in this price range (500-600 dollars) that has all these features in an attractive package.
