BH Cosmetics 120 Color Eye shadow Palette - 1st Edition Review This review is a bit lengthy, but well worth your while because it will save you time scanning through all the other reviews.Shipping and Handling I just received this palette in the mail, and I¡¦m going to give an honest opinion and the facts on it. For starters, this is my first makeup purchase from Amazon. I have the Amazon standard membership, so no special privileges. I received my package with 6 days. I have been crossing my fingers that none of the colors would break, and they didn't. I guess others weren't so lucky, but by what I can tell, BH Cosmetics has upped their shipping standards since those reviews. My package was shipped from west coast to east through UPS. It came in a taped cardboard box marked fragile. Inside the box were multiple layers of brown paper that covered the package from top to bottom. After removing the brown paper, I found even more protective packaging that other reviewers haven't mentioned yet. A long strip of brown, fishnet paper that resembled Chinese handcuffs and a long strip of white packaging paper were wrapped three or four times around the palette, which was wrapped in plastic protecting paper and bubble wrap inside a BH Cosmetics box. You can see this in the customer photos. Anyway, I opened the palette and absolutely none of the colors were chattered. There were plastic slips on top of both palettes. Granted, some of the colors do seem to have a bit of dust from other colors on them, but it's a negligible amount. It doesn't affect the colors. With that said, I am very pleased with the shipping and handling. The Palette Here's a little on the container before I start on the product. The container is 9x6" long and has a black glossy cover. It's light yet durable and compact for travel. The small box that comes around it has pictures of BH Cosmetics' other palettes. When you open the container, you see the first palette, which is mainly blues, greens, yellows, and oranges. The first palette also contains the six marbled colors. To reach the second palette, simply push the top palette up with the space in the side. My top palette did not come with a ribbon like it shows on the Amazon picture. However, the second one did. I think this is a bit pointless because I won't need to take the second palette out. I might just switch the palettes so that the one with the ribbon is on top. Anyway, place the top palette on the lid and you see the second palette, which is mainly your purples, reds, and neutral colors. The swatches are actually about the size of a penny. When you're done with the palettes, place the first back on top and shut your lid. No worries, there's enough space that the colors won't scrape against the lids. The Product Alas, the product. As I noted before, there was a bit of dust from other colors on some of the colors. I simply blew on the colors a bit, and then did a few color swatches. You couldn't even tell that there might have been another color on the colors. As far as the potency of the colors goes, you certainly do need an eye shadow base/primer. I would suggest a lighter primer, not a neutral or orangey one. A lot of people seem to prefer NYX or Urban Decay. Without a primer, the colors are dull and not very opaque. With the primer, the colors are vibrant and opaque. So, half a star is deducted for needing another product to achieve this product's full potential. Another half a star was deducted because, even though the pictures show reds, there is really only one true red in the palette. The others are much more pinkish or orangey than red. Also, the whites barely show up, even with primer. That's why I suggest a lighter primer. Oh, and if you don't have eye shadow brushes or sponge applicators, you'll need some for this palette. You can get a pack of sponger applicators for less than two dollars at Sally's Beauty Supply. All-in-all, this palette is still an excellent, inexpensive product. I would definitely suggest it to a friend. But don't take my word for it; you should try it out yourself! :)Count This section is a courtesy add-in based off my sight. I haven¡¦t tested all the colors and you may think one color belongs in a different color category than I think.Reds/Pinks- 16Oranges- 10Yellows- 14Greens- 22Blues- 23Purples- 12Whites- 3Browns- 8Blacks- 3Silver- 3Marble- 6Mattes- 58Shimmers- 62 If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Love these! They work great!
I was hesitant to buy these because I swore off the stick form of lip balm a decade ago because I found them drying, with my lips peeling off multiple times a day, and also I experienced a lot of throat irritation when I swallowed any (which necessarily happens). I am a bonafide limp balm ADDICT, to the point that even new acquaintances would comment on the frequency of my usage within hours of meeting me. I used petrolatum for years because it was the only thing that worked for my extremely sensitive lips that would literally break out in a rash around the edges within hours of too little moisturization.I started to get concerned about the effects of long term, extremely frequent usage of a petroleum based product, that I was not only applying topically but of course ingesting at an alarming rate. The Badger lip balms rated very well on the EWG cosmestics site, and I accepted early on in my quest for healthier living that I would have to take some risks with my pocketbook (at least not my body!) and make a few sacrifices in terms of convenience and results, so I went ahead and ordered this 6-pack.I am beyond thrilled with the results. My number of lip balm applications per day is probably less than half of what it was before. While I still experience more drying with these than with petrolatum, it is nothing like the synthetic, heavily waxed-based sticks out there. I think they are probably much higher in oil (first ingredient) than wax (second ingredient--but all natural organic bee's wax!) and laden with other moisturizers (aloe). The cosmetic result is also a lot better--with thorough application I get a beautiful lip-gloss look that lasts. I also don't experience irritation, pain, and visible redness when I go a long time without applying--just dryness, which is so much more tolerable. It sounds silly, but this is actually a significant relief and positive change in my life not to have to devote so much attention to preventing my lips from hurting. Not all of the flavors/scents are my cup of tea (the vanilla and the mint are not ones I'd pick), but the others are amazing--very light on taste and the scents are lovely and not overpowering. I also like that there are 6 in this pack--it's a strange sort of relief to not worry about if I have my lip balm with me at all times--6 is enough to have one in my purse, one at work, one by my chair at home, one on my nightstand, one at my vanity, and a spare!

Exactly what is it! But not enough heat. Works good and has heat but not better than most.
I got exactly what I paid for in the photos! It is a good product but, to me, it is not enough heat. My lashes are short and thick. I feel like the one I got from Fred Meyer worked better.

Wonderful!
Wonderful palette. Purchased mine quite awhile ago now but I was reminded of it recently so thought I'd write a review. I used this palette two or three times when I first purchased it, and created some beautiful looks. Because I'm such a makeup hoarder/collector it sometimes takes me a while to get around to trying something for a second or third time. I wanted some colour recently and rummaging through my drawers I came across this... Ooh perfect! I then proceeded to play around with the colours - using the current trend of warming up the eye look with orange, reds, and pinks - I went with a green look which included lots of different shades of green. I used bright green on the lid, teal in the crease, dark green in the outer corner and so on... blended and warmed up with one of the beautiful oranges in the palette. I couldn't believe how nice it turned out. Recieved compliments through the day too :) I'm so pleased I re-discovered this eyeshadow palette, I'll definitely be using it a lot more! *****

Satisfied
I'd been looking for a 120 palette for ages, as it's simply too expensive to buy MAC. Yes, MAC is amazing, but it's also incredibly and unbelievably expensive, and truth to be told, you can buy just as good makeup for half the price. Besides, MAC only comes in a 24 palette... I'm not sure if there's a bigger edition, and you have to go to the main stores to buy them. So, I started wandering around, searching for a nice palette, and BH cosmetics crossed my mind. I'm a quality person and I like brands, but after having read a lot of great reviews on this palette, I decided to buy it. I bought first edition, mainly because I couldn't tell the difference between edition 1, 2, 3 or 4 - and first edition had the best ratings.I love this palette - I don't even use any other eyeshadow palettes anymore, and I have a thousands..now just lying around. They're very blend-able, but you need to apply a primer (eyeshadow preferably), especially if you want the colors to be more bold. Even the mat colors are very good - I was truly satisfied. One minus, I would've liked a better variety of the brown colors, luckily, I had a brown edition palette, which I just use, as I like to do a chocolate smokey eye.It doesn't really matter if you just a beginner or a rehearsed makeup artist, I found it very enjoyable. Yet, I would recommend a smaller palette if you're just in the need of an eyeshadow palette... you'll probably find a lot of the colors unnecessary.

LOVE it!
I absolutley love this pallete.I'm glad I purchased it after checking so many reviews I finally decided to buy it.I originally wanted to purchase the 2nd Edition 120 color pallete but amazon charges an extra £9.00 for shipping and honestly I'm not looking to spend so much on a pallete again, I'm not a bank. But anyway, this pallete does it for me, I just love the colours, there's matte and some shimerry tones. What I also like about this pallette is that the pigmentation is amazing for the price, I also purchased "NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk" I use it before I apply the eye shadows, it lasts the whole day, it appears more vivid which I have been looking for in so many 120 color pallettes. BH cosmetics is deffinetly the one. Buy it.

Fun, Cheap, Convenient
This eyeshadow palette is fun and convenient to have to hand - especially at a low price. The delivery was fast and it all came in one piece. It had a nice mirror inside which is a nice touch. The only reason I haven't given this palette a 5 star is that it requires a few coats for the pigment to start showing for some colours but all in all, I have paid a little for a lot so that is to be expected. I would recommend definitely using it if you're into cosplay.

Pretty good but a few downfalls...
I've only swatched some of the colours in the palette so far, and some are quite chalky. However the colour payoff is quite good with a few layers. It did arrive with about four colours smashed, which transferred onto the cover & outside of the palette, but the seller and I were able to come to an agreement on resolving this issue quickly and easily. I am planning on trying them out with a light base underneath (i.e. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk or an LA Girl Pro Concealer) to boost the colour, and if I like the outcome I'll add one star.
