I researched how to get rid of them as they were becoming a nuisance to me and my cat and found this big beautiful horned owl. I sat him up on the city recycle bin right next to the tall bush/tree they had taken over. Amazingly, silence, nothing but the peaceful sound of regular birds chirping. After a day or so I moved him to the other blue recycle bin, as recommended, to make him look more life like. Sweet silence. I love this guy! When I opened the big box he was much bigger than I expected. The color and markings are very realistic and attractive. His eyes look so real! They look like glass and almost light up. It is plastic and feels light, but there is a hole in the bottom with a stopper that you can remove and fill with rocks, etc. to weight it down to stabilize it. I love this guy not only because he backs those mockingbirds up but he is beautiful - he is truly an asset to my yard.
