Works well, but consider the following issues
As long as you follow the instructions on the included card about turning on Dock mode, and allowing audio to play through dock mode, this cord works very well.I had to knock the score down a bit because of the following:-The cord is VERY touchy at the attach point. This is more a fault of how the MicroUSB port is shaped, but it is something to consider. Any adjustment side to side, and you will take it out of dock mode. The cord is not very flexable, so this problem is exacerbated whenever you try to move the phone, or pick it up to switch tracks. This problem is probably not an issue with the actual dock, as your phone won't be moving.- There is a very noticeable whine that is produced when you have the phone attached, and near a full charge. It took me a while to figure this out. It would whine in the morning when I left from work (after charging overnight), but would be fine on the drive home. I have had numerous other audio devices and phones attached to my car with the same Lighter socket -> USB charger without issue. I've tried other power adapters as well, and got the same result. To get around the issue, simply disconnect the power, but leave the audio plugged in.-Audio volume level is still influenced by phone audio level. I have to turn my phone up all the way when I plug it in to make sure I don't have to crank my stereo. This isn't a huge problem, I just have to remember to turn it back down before I head in to work. Nobody likes loud ringtones or alert sounds in a cube farm...All things considered, this is a good product, but some additional documentation explaining common issues, and perhaps some sort of attachment to stabilize the cord where it connects to the phone would be appreciated. I consider it essential for listening to podcasts and music, and would buy it again. Just keep in mind the flaws above, so you aren't a bit heart broken if it happens to you.

Had line noise - they replaced free - much better
Updated review -- manufacturer saw my post, contacted me and replaced free under warranty -- perfect customer service!Thinking this cable would not work, I also ordered 2 other cables from eBay (all I could find), they were much cheaper ($5), but you get what you pay for, as they were horrible in line noise!Received the replacement cable from iBolt and it works much better. Minimal line noise and is also dependent upon which apps I am running (Waze & Doggcatcher) and my battery charge level (fully charged has more noise than medium charge), so this really may be an issue with the S4.My original review:-------------------I (had) exactly the same noise problem on my S4 plugged in to a 2014 Mini Cooper. Had a professional cradle install with a noise filter and after $400 still noise with filter. The noise is some form of bleed over, it is not elec engine noise. What is really bizarre for me is that the noise is worse in the morning commute than in the afternoon. Heat? battery charge level? When I pause Pandora or Doggcatcher the noise ceases after a second, like the line output goes off line, but press play and it is as loud as the audio playing.I'm now off to try to find an alternative and my install guy is upset that he has to do rework.Mini Cooper provides a connector for iThings, but I am a diehard anti-apple Android fan.

Works Galaxy S4 but High Interference Noise
With so few reviews for this product and none of the Galaxy S4, I was wary about purchasing it. I had a similar setup for my iPhone 4S in my car and it worked flawlessly. I was hoping for the best on this but there are not a lot of options for Android phones. I could run audio through Bluetooth but sometimes Bluetooth in the car gets scrambled and the only way to get it working again is to restart the car or re-pair with the device. Plus, I think hard wired audio is just better in my experience. The instructions say you need to have three settings checked but I only needed to check two of them on the S4, which is good because the third one is annoying.Settings > Accessory > Dock SoundSettings > Accessory > Audio Output ModeCheck those two and it just works when you plug it in.This comes with a 9 foot cord, which in a car, is very long. I had to roll mine up and tape it down by the floor to keep it out of the way. But with the Aux port being in different places and trying to accommodate different layouts and sizes of dashboards and vehicles, a long cord makes sense. That's the good news. It works with the S4. The bad news is, I experienced an excessive amount of noise on the line coming through the speakers. Excessive to the point of significant distraction while music played at a reasonable volume. This occurred both WITH and without a ground loop isolator, which is supposed to filter out such noise. Unfortunately, it's not something I can live with so I will be returning it. Your experience may be different and it may be worth a shot because there are few alternative options.

Works better than expected
I've got 2012 Toyota Camry. It's got the low end radio in it with a usb and headphone type aux input. If worked pretty much flawlessly with my iphone 5, but I switched to a Galaxy S4 so had to get this cable. The cable works pretty good. I didn't notice any electrical/background noise at first. However there is noise, it seems to be when the phone is fully charged at 100%. Even then it's not terrible, kind of a whining noise. Other than that it works good and you can always unplug the USB part of it that's charging for awhile to stop the interference. Of course it doesn't show track info on the radio or allow you to use the radios control to skip tracks, ect. But that's a limitation of using 3.5 aux input cables and not this products fault. I took away one star for the interference noise but other than that it's a great product.

Good for a back up + long cord.
Doesn't quite provide the sound it boasts about. My auxiliary alone bought from menards allows more functionality in the equalizer of your device. Not allowing you to use your custom presets and also loses some bass in general. It does however have some nice features. Cable is long, 9ft and it does charge your device and play audio at once with one set up. Either way all in all good for a back up aux cord or a long charger cable.

Wonderful piece of kit
Having tried various aux cables through the headphone socket, some "standard" and some designed for Samsung, I was unable to find one that would play in my car (3 Series BMW). Thought I would try this one and it works a dream. You need to change one setting in the Android Settings tab for Accessory on your 'phone which takes all of 5 seconds (instructions included in pack). My Samsung Galaxy S4 now connects to my cars aux in and usb slot and plays perfectly without any hiss or interference. The 'phone is charging as well through the usb connection. The micro usb connection makes it think it is playing through a speaker dock. If you use your 'phone for Sat Nav then you should consider the ibolt android app. Really pleased with this purchase.

looks like its going to do what it says it will do
there are some negative reports on this but personally i have found the cable to be great with my Samsung S4, you do need the iBolt app as that will make sure that the sound and charge are directed in the right way via the dock option in the settings and setting up the app is easy. i am able to stream music, make and receive calls without having to use a bluetooth headset, use the sat nav app, use AutoGaurd for recording my journey and charge my device all from the one cable and screen. time will tell if this is a sturdy cable but there is plenty of cable to "plumb" it in behind panels and shrouds inside the carso this in turn should add some life to the cable.

"Frustration cable" but it does the job
My girlfriend refers to this as 'frustration cable' due to the ridiculously long length, and inflexible nature. That aside, it seems to be reasonably well made, and it certainly functions as desired. The actual operation for putting a Samsung Galaxy into dock mode is very simple, a single specific (420k iirc) resistor to pin 5 of the microusb, having several attempts at making my own connectors and failing to get a reliable audio signal, I bit the bullet and ordered the iBolt. At the time, it was the only premade docking cable available. 10 months on and I'm happy to say it's still working perfectly. For a relatively expensive cable, it doesn't really have the feel of quality. The connectors are chunky and feel cheap, with untidy trimmings from the injection moulding. Nothing to worry about, they are solid, but it doesn't feel or look anything like a premium product. The cable itself is far too long for my needs, and I suspect most other peoples too. It is also very stiff and prone to retaining kinks/bends (of which there are many from the initial packaging, so don't think you can treat it carefully and be fine). There is no velcro tab or winder to hold any extra tidy, something which is worth adding if you don't plan on using the full length, or permanently routing it discretely behind your dash. The excessively long length isn't just a cosmetic issue. The electronic effect of having a much longer cable than required is bad news for both charging and sound quality. It seems that most of the negative reviews are due to a ground loop, caused by the charging and audio sharing the same common ground. This will be evident as a high pitched whine while the engine is running. Easily remedied with the addition of a ground loop isolator. This isn't really any fault of the cable itself, a fact of basic electronics. All in all, it works. And that's what's important. Having damaged the jack port of my Galaxy S4 active, this is now the only means of getting wired audio out of my phone.

Horrible noise on audio output
Massively frustrating. There doesn't appear to be any other solution for a single connection to charge and take audio from Samsung Galaxy Sx via USB. But when I charge at the same time as listening to music I suffer horrid noise that disappears when I disconnect the USB from the charger and leave just the audio connected. I've had three of these, all with the same problem, two of which have also suffered cable failures at the phone end. I wish someone would manufacture a decent product to satisfy this need.

Fast charging
Good product, would recommend. I bought this to connect my S3 placed on a dashboard holder to the aux input on the center console of a BMW E90. Cable is long enough with some spare length after running it through the covers. Incredibly fast charging, faster than the original Samsung cable. The ibold apps is free to download and is actually pretty good if you want to use your phone as an on-board computer/navigation system/MP3 player/entertainment system.
