Very strong
The magnets on these are very strong and they work great for hanging Christmas lights on metal flashing etc. They are on the expensive side but they work. I previously used a cheaper one with smaller magnets but they were not as strong, and the magnets got demagnetized over time. Hopefully it won't happen with these.

Expensive, but they work.
These are expensive, but they work to make your C9 lights magnetic. I hot-glued metal discs on my wall and attached my C9 lights with the magnets. It looks great, especially after priming and painting the metal discs to match my wall.

Perfect
They worked perfectly and held my C9 Christmas lights without shifting the entire time the lights were up. I recommend.

Good solution after learning how to use
I purchased magnetic Christmas light clips a couple years ago to hang C9 LED lights without using plastic clips, staples, and hopefully without a ladder. So far all goals have been met, although with a sight learning curve. The biggest difference when installing magnetic clips is that you MUST fully support the length of lights when they are being installed. The magnets are strong enough to hold a single (or several) lights to a magnetic surface but will not hold if the uninstalled length of lights is dropped which will pull the entire string down. One way to minimize this is to install cup hooks or some other positive stop at key locations on a run. Then, start by hanging the lights to the hooks, followed by attaching the magnetic clips. If the string does fall during installation it will only unzip to the hook. I would recommend a one time installation of hooks at the peak of gable end as well as halfway down each pitch. Once installed I have had no problems with lights coming down.Lights can be installed from the ground with a long pole and with an attachment like this:amazon.com/gp/product/B00T7RUL56/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Installation using a pole is more difficult than by hand because sometimes the light string will become twisted and is more difficult to align the magnet with the surface to be attached. It can be done however with patience. It currently now takes me about a hour to install 200 lights using this method.Installation on aluminum gutters of course will not work. Or will it? When I first installed the magnetic clips I resorted to plastic clips for the sections of the aluminum gutters. Snow and ice sliding down the roof can rip those right off. A better mounting location for Christmas lights is on the underside of the gutters where they are protected from ice, snow, water….. To make this happen simply place a magnetic object like a inexpensive steel washer (3/4” - 1”) or piece of scrap magnetic metal in the bottom of the gutter above each light. I have tried this with both steel washers and small magnets in the gutter and the washers have plenty of holding power as the magnetic force passes right thru the aluminum (see pictures). In summary, I am forever using these magnetic clips for Christmas light installation on the house now that I have made the investment and learned the installation secrets.Pros:. Keeps Christmas lights neatly organized in perfect rows.. No damage from clips or staples to home. Easy to clip onto light wires in vertical or horizontal orientation.. Durable so far (2 seasons). Only had a couple break with 200 installed.. Installation is easier with the proper techniques.. Once installed will withstand strong winds.Cons:. As reviewed by others an entire length of lights will “unzip” and fall if not properly supported during installation.. Cost is prohibitive. Purchase off-season for best savings.

Works great
These magnets light hangers work great on my house with metal flashing.

Borderline worthless.
These seem great, magnet seems good, cord clip grooves look good... But after clipping one on each of the 50 lights, 10 fell off when trying to hang. We have a higher roof line, so instead of getting up on the roof we wanted something we could put up with a pole. The second attempt of putting them up (after reattaching the 10 that fell off) led to getting 5 lights up and then the weight of the rest of the string ripped them right off. 3rd attempt included super glueing the clips to the lights, they all broke off, glue didn't hold. 4th attempt included tying the clips to the lights with wire (yes, really). Those held on well, but again, the weight of the strand ripped them down before we could get more than 10 attached to the house. Thinking we have to get up on the roof anyways.... Lots of work, not worth the money.

Great Purchase
I couldn't use with my gutter, but for the other areas it worked perfectly.
