I think I will really like this product. Was vacillating between capsules and this powder and chose powder because I knew how much I would be mixing each time. Some reviewers of capsules said that their product had empty or nearly empty capsules so that wouldn't be very helpful if it happened to me. On the other hand, many reviewers of powders complained that the product thickened very quickly and you'd end up with a clumpy goo in your glass. I was not deterred by clumping as my trusted immersion blender is perfect for mixing the drink. I'm not one to constantly drink water so having a full glass of flavorless liquid in front of me takes some getting used to. But definitely something I can stomach.My reason for buying this powder is to add another source of fiber to my diet. I'm also testing to see if it would help curb my munchies in the evenings. The jury is still out but at least it's not hurting. I need to make me a glass as soon as I get home and let it do its thing for a bit. It seems to take the edge off my hunger and make it easier to control what I put in my mouth. If this continues, I'm on a good path.

I originally bought this as a supplement but I found I like capsule form of this better which at the time of this purchase wasn't available in my normal brad. So once it was available I found another use for this. I've replaced corn starch, flour and other thickening agents with this. It works well. There's no taste and it only takes a small amount to get the desired consistency. The best thing about it is it's better for you than corn starch and flour. My favorite thing to put it in is as a thickener to almond milk chia seed pudding.

This brand of Konjac root powder is one I use regularly. It's a high fiber product I use to replace other thickening powders. It takes very little per cup of water to make a thickening gel. One can also add it directly to liquids, even as their cooking (if you're quick). A 12 oz. jar (plastic with a good lid) lasts me for months.

The media could not be loaded.  Glucomannan is a prebiotic fiber that people use for weight loss (and maybe to control blood sugar). The whole idea is, it absorbs a ton of water and creates a gel that makes you feel fuller reducing appetite, adds volume and softness to your poop, slows down the absorption of the other foods you eat with it (sugar eaten with a bunch of soluble fiber / glucomannan causes less of a spike in blood sugar and insulin) and feeds the best types of bacteria in your guts (the short chain fatty acids produced by the bacteria eating the fiber also have weight loss and appetite control benefits).We bought this brand because it was the cheapest at the time and while, it has the exact same ingredient and nutrition info as all other brands it seems to absorb less water and become less thick (see video comparison). This may be due to the source of the konjac or just variations by batch but this particular canister seemed to be lower quality than the Now foods brand based on its ability to turn water into a gel. Since this is the primary benefit of Glucomannan vs other soluble fiber supplements it seems like this brand is lower value than others.

I bought this product in hopes that it would curb my appetite. The directions to use a heaping half teaspoon. I started out with a quarter teaspoon. It did not make me feel full at any time. It significantly decreased my motility. After it was out of my system, it reed havoc with my digestive tract. I would not recommend this for anybody that has digestive sensitivities.
