Ankuoo NEO Wi-Fi enabled Smart Switch is a wireless outlet switch that can be used to turned on or off the plugged electronics through iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. The NEO Smart Switch gives you wireless control of your home electronics. You can turn on or off a lamp from your bedroom, living room or office. The NEO Smart Switch also operates over mobile internet (EDGE, 3G, 4G, LTE), which means you can control your home electronics on the go. From anywhere that you have an internet connection, you can operate your plugged electronics using the NEO Smart Switch.

DO NOT BUY ANY ANKUOO for NEO APP PRODUCTS if you have an ANDROID
I have several of these devices throughout my home and for years used the app to control them. Worked great. Unfortunately Ankuoo updated their Neo app in late June and it no longer works on Android phones. Check the reviews in the play store. I've emailed and contacted through their website. There is no patch or fix, and they do not communicate or respond to support requests. I now have to replace all of my smart switches and plugs. Don't waste your money or your time on this.

Waste of My Time (Get a Teckin!)
Mine stopped working after a month or so. Looking back I spent way too many hours on trying to fix this stupid device. Wasted too much time on a product that's not documented fully. I hate when companies do this. I wish they would just be honest and say stop troubleshooting when x event happens. I have tried all of their silly documented steps. Nothing works. I am quite sure the s/w gets bricked. (The lights are on but no one is home.). For those of you who choose to ignore all of these negative reviews, DON'T TOUCH IT once you have it setup. I bricked mine by trying to add second phone (because documentation said you could.). I shouldn't have listened.UPDATE: Someone mentioned get a Teckin. I followed their advice and they are right. These are fantastic. More compact. Far better firmware. They are 5 star. Read my reviews on them for more info.

Beware of temporary dysfunction after installing Apple IOS 12
Have bought 8 of these Neo switches over 4 years to control security cameras and lights in 2 houses. Worked great to control gadgets from anywhere in the word where my I-phone had access to internet or even a 4G carrier line. This week I installed IOS 12 and the Neo switches stopped working unless the phone is in the same router as the NEO. This makes them practically useless. Firmware upgrade not apparently available and ANKUOO has not upgraded their website in 2 years. Have asked their folks in NY for a solution. Will update if they ever get back.Update. After many days resetting the IPhone, re-installing each NEO, and re/setting the routers, nothing seemed to work. Could not get connectivity to remote NEOS either through GSM network nor WiFi. Then suddenly today, after a week of fiddling, all of the NEOS, local and remote, came alive. No apparent reason.I have no explanation since there was no firmware update nor IOS update.

It works as advertised
It works! But not with Amazon's Alexa.Like every other smart device I have come across it must connect via 2.4ghz rather than 5. When you initially register the device using the app (downloaded from the app store) make sure your phone is ALSO connected to your 2.4ghz Wifi. Once registered you can control the device from you phone from anywhere by cell or and any Wifi. But when you register your phone must be on your local Wifi and it must be on 2.4 channel. Heads up... Some default settings on routers will broadcast the same SSID for both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies. The device will connect to the 2.4 and your new phone might choose 5. When that happens your phone will not successfully register the device and you may not be able to force your phone to connect to the 2.4 channel. You will then have to edit your router settings to broadcast different SSIDs for each of the channels.Bottom line. The device works. If you have problems configuring your router, it's not the Neo smart plug that is the issue. Just about any smart device will have the same issues. But if you are attempting to connect the device to Amazon's Alexa, well that is an issue with the Neo smart plug. But keep in mind (at the time of my purchase) the Neo was about 30℅ less expensive than many other smart switches that so work with Alexa.

Great for Christmas lights or playing tricks on family members who don't understand technology!
Tired of running around your house plugging in Christmas lights? Too old to get on your hands and knees to find that stupid plug that, despite how many times you wrapped it around a low hanging branch near the wall outlet when you went to bed last night, is buried somewhere in among the presents, deep under your tree? Just want to freak out family members, room mates, or your kids by turning various electronics on and off from another room like some sort of magic wizard? Then you NEED this smart plug. And yes, "NEED" is the correct term here.I used to spend about 96 hours (Read: 5 whole minutes) of my life every night running around plugging in window candles, the Christmas tree, and all the other light up decorations during the holidays. Now I sit on my couch contributing to the obesity epidemic, and turn on my lights with the tap of a finger. Just a few minutes of searching between couch cushions for my dang phone (why do they make phones so thin!?!), a open the app, and its like a friggin Christmas miracle up in my house. No lie. These things are great. And if you are slow, or forgetful like I am, you can name them on your phone so you always remember what you are turning on or off. Functional names like "Entertainment/TV system", Christmas Tree, or "Yes you left IRON on. Click here to turn it off". You could, but probably should not give them people names like "Paul", "Bob", or "Victoria" as you would easily mistaken them for your friends and then get sad when they don't love you. Although these plugs are smart, they are not capable of love so it is best to keep their names purely functional. And they remember their names from year to year too. Mine spend some 345 or days a year in a drawer, waiting to come out to do serve their master (that's me!). After an initial set up when I purchased them, each year I just plug them in and they are ready to go. No digging out instructions each year to reconfigure them. Easy. Breezy. Beautiful. CoverGirl. ...Wait that's a different product, but their slogan kinda fits here.Other functions such as the timer are easy to use and figure out too. No crazy learning curves here.Oh yeah and they were also cheaper than some of the more "popular" brands at the time I bought them. But they work just as well. 10 stars. Out of 5. Just buy them already!!

Was good but not now. DO Not buy
Have been using this product for years to control remote located lights for security in far off place. They changed software end of July 2020. Made all switches useless. Three emails no response. Switching to Prime Wire units. Be forewarned.. software support is nil

Poor software update support
Poor software update support, very glitch app with both iPhone and Android. The smart plug stopped working with our devices altogether and it was returned for a refund. Still awaiting refund. Absolutely stay away from this product and go with the TP Link Smart plug, it's a million times better!

Excelente producto
