Nice idea, but in use it actually doesn't do what it's advertized to do
Bought one, seemed defective and only had an effect thru part of the dial, returned that for a replacement, the replacement doesn't seem defective, but nonetheless, it doesn't actually do what it says it will do - it may throttle down the outlet - probably does, judging by the sound of the pressure washer motor - but this seems to have no effect whatsoever on the actual outgoing pressure or flow, either one, at the washer nozzle - all that happens, as I now see one other reviewer noted, is that the pump motor works harder and maintains the same output it had. So all it does is overwork and is bad for the pump motor, and doesn't have any noticeable impact at all on the actual jet pressure leaving the washer wand. The replacement was therefore returned for a refund. Buy it if you want to shorten your washer life. If you really need adjustable pressure aside from what you get by changing nozzles, you probably need to buy a high end machine that has pressure adjustment designed in. I note that although the overall average rating is good, there are like 20% 1 star reviews, that's high. Pressure washer being used by me was the Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Joe 2030 PSI 1.76 GPM 14.5-Amp Electric Pressure Washer sold here on Amazon.

Throttles Pressure, Also Chokes Engine
Simpson Megashot MSH3125.Lowers pressure as advertised when you twist the grip, but sometimes my washer starts to choke out and shake when its turned down too low sometimes. It might be totally normal and fine, but it doesnt sound right. So yeah. Havent found a totally necessary use for it, but i still have it attatched just because. But it does work.

Able to lower pressure to garden sprayer levels.
My pressure washer's pressure reducer works from a couple hundred up to 3600 psi. With this on the wand I can reduce pressure down from a couple hundred psi to thirty or so, to a gentle spray such as for a garden. I can make a trashcan of bt spray for gypsy moths and pump it to the pressure washer to reach to the tops of very tall trees, but then turn it way down to spray vegetation at eye level by using this wand mounted reducer. For washing a car or a motorcycle this is definitely not necessary. To spray vegetation it definitely is.

I definitely don't see the difference at 4500 psi
This unit probably assists with regulating the pressure but not nearly to what you would expect. At 4500 psi it does nothing for the pressure no matter how low you dial. At lower pressure (like 1500 to 2000 psi) you can notice the difference in flow and pressure. This is cosmetic jewellery in my opinion and I don't see the value unless you use a small pressure washer. This withstands high pressure but does not regulate it in my view.

Fantastic for a 3200psi unit to wash cars with.
I put this on my new pressure washer right away, so I don't know how powerful my unit is without it. I can say that the pressure adjustment works great. I've been washing my car on the lowest setting and it works great. Lots of people complained about leaking, but I have yet to have any issues after 4 tanks of gas through my washer. (maybe 12 hours of run time). The pressure dial is a bit hard to read where my threads ended. It would be nice to be able to clock the adjustment, but that's getting nit picky.

A little more info. would be nice!
Not sure yet, called Simpson customer service and told them the water was running through the device without pressure. received machine and device same time so was using for the first time. The person on the other end totally unfamiliar with the pressure washer and device, told me to return the machine to the dealer. Great Customer Service don't you think. Removed the device and and everything works. Will try again. Also no suggestions as to what tip to use with the device.

Solid build, but little pressure variation
I bought this item to replace an earlier model Dial-N-Wash pressure regulator which came on the spray gun with my Simpson ALH3225 pressure washer. This regulator seems to be built more solidly than the original Dial-N-Wash regulator but it does not seem to allow for as much pressure variation as the original. I would not buy it again for as little result as it gives.

So far so good
It just arrived today and I installed it and only used it for about an hour. It was easy to install and the product worked great.I cant't speak as to the long term use but it seems to be a good product. I ordered this mainly because my wife has arthritis and it was difficult for her to regulate psi at the unloader. This makes it easy for her. Product is being used on a Dewalt 3800 psi @ 3.5 gpm pressure washer.

Seems to work
Don't like Simpson products since they failed to back up warranty on $1,000.00 washer i bought that didn't work. Hard to rate a regulator when their washer never worked.

Nice
I connected this just before the gun. Works great and ensures that I don’t mar my car’s paint with too much pressure.
