A BIG SURPRISE!!
I was skeptical about buying this product. I was looking for a camera for a 12 year old girl. I did not want to spend a lot of money. But for under $60.00, I was ready for a big disappointment. That was not the case here. The camera comes in very nice box(almost like jewelry), I opened the box and "WOW", did they send me the wrong camera? It looked amazing, the silver casing looks fancy and stylish. Keep in mind of was looking for a camera for a 12 year old ,to capture those special events of her and her family and friends and her cat. The camera has great features, such as True HD, rechargeable battery, Zoom, 4gb of memory, USB cable for charging, a 3 inch viewing screen. Just turn on camera and load the built it software to your computer. "Cool stuff". The size of the camera is just like regular cell phone. Most impressed with the video quality, crisp and clear. For inside it's OK just as long as you have plenty of lighting. She loves that you can upload it to her YouTube site. Anyway, I liked it so much, that I ordered one just for myself. She got the silver and got the black one.

Easy to use, convenient, small, goes everywhere and takes great pix
I can't be too hyperbolic in praise for this little camera that I take EVERYWHERE and have snapped pix of my life everywhere and upload photos to my computer, Facebook, print out pix. It's small, flat, easy to use and you can count on one out o 3 or 4 shots as a good shot. Download into computer, erase from bloggie and start over.

Camera Defective After Less Than 3 Months
I purchased this unit for my 75-yr mom. She asked me to order it because the compact size and ease of use in terms of taking photos and download photos to her computer. However, she's really disappointed when she couldn't turn on the camera after less than 3 months of light use. Yes, she charged the camera over night and tried again....still couldn't power up.I would not recommend this to anyone.

Things to consider before purchasing
All the good things about Bloggie have been reported and discussed. I agree with most of them. So, what I am going to do here is listing up a few things that I wished had been better. As I rated it 4 stars, I am not unhappy about the purchase. Video quality is good, and I love the convenience of directly plugging the USB into my Mac for the uploading. It's smaller than my iPhone, which is a major plus. Here are several things you might want to know before purchasing one of these:1. When I record with Bloggie vertically held (portrait), the image is just a vertical strip and is useless. You must start recording in a horizontal (landscape) position. The picture of it always standing up vertically in the ads, as if that's the normal position for a normal recording, is kind of misleading, because you need to hold it horizontally to record a normal video that works with TV viewing and uploading to YouTube etc.2. However, the attachment to the tripod is at the next to the USB adaptor, which is at the bottom, only. There is no way you can use a tripod and record horizontally. I am using the flexible tripod by having it grab onto the back of the chair to stabilize it. And, I still need a couple of strips of velcro to hold them up -- It definitely needs another tripod attachment on the side.3. Focusing take a bit of time, and even a little bit of angle change causes it to white out. You need to press the record button may be 2 - 3 seconds earlier than you would expect, so you won't miss the beginning point.4. With 1080 HD format, this model (4GB, 2 hours) can only hold about 40 mins of recording. I have not tried with any other definitions. And, it also takes about the same time to upload to iMovie I use with my Macbook Pro. It's OK with me for my purpose, but for traveling . . . ? may not be convenient. You might want to get an 8GB/4 hour model if you are taking it to a trip or something.5. It needs a choice of an external storage, such as SD.6. Touch screen is not sensitive enough. I need to touch multiple times to get it going.7. The software is not very useful because editing feature is very minimal. I deleted it because it interfered with iMovie when I upload the images.Well, enough kvetching . . . sorry. But, I would like these things to be improved because I like the handiness and picture quality. For a quick shot and upload, for video and still shots, this is an ideal video cam.

Both video and still photo quality lower than expected
I would not recommend this for anyone who already has a mobile device such an MP3 player or smartphone that takes acceptable videos and photos. I have a basic Samsung Galaxy MP3 player from last year that takes better still photos and comparable video. I only tried using it indoors since that's the main purpose I bought it for. The room was well lit in the middle of the afternoon, but the video was grainy with poor color. The photos were even worse despite the 12MP.The Sony Bloggie touch is a nice size and looks slick. The touchscreen controls are very basic but easy to use. The USB arm that sticks out to plug in for uploading and charging is a little flimsy, but they include a very short adapter cord that you can connect to the USB arm with a USB plug on the other end for the computer so you don't have to jam the camera in your computer at an odd or precarious angle.I did not bother trying to use the software. I just used Control Panel in Windows to access the files directly. That was perfectly easy. Overall, it's very easy to use. I didn't need any instructions to figure it out. I rather like the internal memory but I can see that being limiting for others.I've seen in other reviews that the Bloggie Touch has been available for as little as $60 in the past. For someone without a mobile device that takes videos and pictures, this would be great at that price point. But at $100+, especially if you already have something that takes acceptable video and photos, I would skip this.

easy to use
Very easy to use but ONLY in daylight. This camcorder is awful in lower light. Also it is hard to keep stable but for point and shoot video it is fine. Worked well for my son's wedding outdoors but the moment it came indoors in lower light it had real issues with focus.
