Dine with Ease! π½οΈ
The Summer Tiny Diner Portable Placemat in Blue is a revolutionary mealtime solution designed for kids. Its molded scoop catches food and prevents spills, while the durable, flexible material is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. With strong suction cups to keep it in place, this mat allows children to eat directly off it, minimizing the need for extra plates and making mealtime a breeze.

I wonder if the people designing these things actually have kids?
I'm starting to wish I had a 3D printer because I could design the perfect table mat for my 10mo old son. It isn't rocket science, but I see so many bad designs that it just amazes me.Ok, as for this mat, the issues are derived from observing my son being more interested in eating the placemat than the food that is placed on it. The lip / cop on the front is a good idea in theory, but it offers him a great grip and rip point from which to tear it off the table and begin chewing on it. And mind you, my son is just an average little boy, so this will probably apply to most any young crawler / toddler. This leads into the other problem, the suction cups barely work in a perfect situation (smooth, clean table top) let alone the average situation. Now, if you took a couple of those clips they use to keep picnic table cloths in place, then you might have something here. Unfortunately, while the "Home Improvement" guy in me would take a couple of metal picnic table clips or a couple of C-Clamps to keep this in place, the wife would (and rightfully so) frown on the idea. Same goes for using duct tape. Though in that case, the restaurant would probably object to the idea as well.So there you go, by the time a child is able to use this mat without pulling it up, either chewing on it or flinging it around, your child probably wouldn't need a place mat like this anymore.

Good but the suction isn't as strong as I'd wish it to be
I had one of these for my daughter and it worked great! So when I had my son (he just turned 1), I thought I should get him one too. I'm not too sure if the newer placemat is made differently because it doesn't seem to stay suctioned to the table as good as I remember my daughter's one to be. Or it could be just that my son is stronger and more adamant about ripping it off the table. :O) Either way, I still love this placemat and would recommend it. It is much better than the disposable ones that have stickers on the borders... my son rips that off with no problems. And I like how this one has a food catcher! Comes in handy, especially when my son is drinking water and spills, at least the food catcher catches it.

good, not great, suction cups don't stick to much.
Works to stop the mess, but the suction cups don't stick to much. Any table top that isn't completely totally smooth (wood, some laminate, anything with a hint of texture)- they wont stick, leaving a baby who picks up, pushes and makes a bigger mess. When the table top is smooth is works perfectly (but in the 10 plus times I have rolled it out at a restaurant this has maybe worked 2 times)It does travel well, if you can't really wipe it off before you pack it up, it rolls up in such a way that it won't make a mess until you get it home for a chance to clean it. Overall, happy I have it, but wish it stuck to more surfaces, and I don't know how you would get around that.

Great for when you take your little one out to eat
I've used this placemat when I take my son out to restaurants and didn't feel confident in the cleanliness of the table. Before he could use a bowl, I would put this placemat down and put his food right onto it. I knew it was clean, so I didn't worry. It doesn't stick to every type of table, so you have to kind of watch it because the kids figure out very quickly how to pull it up. The little tray that the end is great for catching food that they drop - and it is dishwasher safe, which is an added bonus. The best part: it rolls up for easy storage in your diaper bag.

Good concept, suction cups hold back usefulness
We got this to help ease the mess our little one makes when we go out to eat. It does roll up to a convient size and the catch tray works fairly well. It is also pretty easy to clean, although we do find a few crumbs escape when rolled up if you don't get everything off it.The issue is that the suction cups don't do a good job most of the time holding it in place. So the baby is able to often times just fling everything off anyways. Its pretty hit and miss.

Nice, but didn't live up to expectations
I love the idea of this. I've taken the Baby Led Weaning approach to food, which means we skipped purees and went straight to solids when he was ready. That makes this perfect or him since he's a self-feeder. I like that I can roll it up, put it in the diaper bag, and have a clean place for him to eat anywhere we go.I've had this for a short while, but it's hard to unroll. It tends to maintain it's rolled up form. Even the suction cups on the back don't hold well to tables in my experience. I do like the little crumb catcher part, though. Overall it has good and bad things, so it's something I use sometimes but not all the time I could.

Stress-free eating out with a baby!
I recently discovered this placemat and wish I had bought it before. I keep it in the diaper bag for use when we are out at a restaurant. It has taken the stress out of feeding our son while we are out. He enjoys feeding himself and now we have a clean surface where he can eat bits of food off our plates. It's the perfect size and I love the tray at the bottom for catching food that misses his bib. The suction cups work well on most surfaces, but sometimes I will have to hold it in place for him so he doesn't pull it off the table if it doesn't stick. I don't mind doing these because of all the other positives of this placemat. It cleans off so easily just like the silicon bibs we use. I secure it with a rubber band and wash it when we get home. Love this placemat and wish I had found it before!

Great purchase
I read all the reviews before purchasing this Tinydiner placemat and was unsure if it would lay flat or curl. I've used it 5-10 times already and it works great. It folds up in itself for easy travel and wipes clean with baby wipes while out. I've used it on countertop, granite and wood surfaces and the suction cups work fine. My little guy eats his food off it and likes to point to the pictures on the mat. When I get home I don't store the mat rolled up, I let it lay open in his closet with the rest of my diaper bags (I don't want to promote curling!). I highly recommend you buy this!

We had this before and it is useful, but I find it doesnt stick at all ...
We had this before and it is useful, but I find it doesnt stick at all on PVC tablecloths, and when new flaps up, so baby grabs it and not food! Then there's more mess than without it! But when it does work, its such a help.

The best product to aid dinner time
I love the fact that this prevents any messy foor getting onto the table, and it captures most of the food, that doesn't quite reach my little one's mouth! It is so portable too, and very handy to hae on holiday or in restraunts. (I left my last tiny duner at Butlins :( and had to buy another one, as I couldn't do meals without it!)I chose 5 stars. as it does what it sais on the tin.
