A must-have for your dash cam.
This device works great but you have to give it a few minutes to find the signal and get setup. Also, if you are handy with a soldering iron, shorten the cord. Yeah, it will void the warranty but will make the install much better. Another reviewer mentions this so look for their review and get some details. One thing I did that they didn't mention was to drop a blob of 5 minuet epoxy on the wires prior to closing up the case. This will provide some strain relief for the tiny solder connection.Just remember, this device will document your speed so the dash cam will faithfully record you going past the speed limit sign and this device will show you exceeding it.

A must have for your dashcam
Plug and play and acquires a great signal fast and even works when the car is in the garage. If you need the dashcam software for video and the Google maps for GPS send me a ask question and I'll email you the link for the free software. I test several free dashcam software players and found the perfect one that works great with great features.

works perfectly with my Aukey DR02 dashcam
It was completely plug and play once I figured out which jack to plug into on the Aukey DR02 dashcam. Unfortunately the dashcam jacks are not labeled, but a Google search answered my question. It goes into the inboard jack on the DR02 by the way.The lat, long, and speed just appear in the recordings without any configuration. I doubled checked the lat long readings against Google Earth, and they showed me in the correct lane on the streets. The speed is a double edged sword if you want to use the recordings in the case of an accident, but that's good as it makes you way more conscious of how you're driving. The instructions suggest placing the GPS receiver on the dash for good reception, but it picks up just fine mounted by the dashcam at the top of windshield. I hate having to roll up several feet of cable, but I wasn't going to cut it and splice it. It looks really crappy, but it's behind the mirror when viewed from the inside of the car and you can hardly see them from the outside. Both the dashcam and the GPS seem to take the heat from the direct sunshine through the windshield without any issues.

Didn't work unfortunately
I usually get pretty lucky with tech in general but this is the first where I lost my mind. For those reading this for insight, again I might just have been the unlucky one. Here's my story.First off, and I'm sorry to say this. The Customer Q&A is not helpful at all. I KNOW THAT YOU CANNOT SEE THE GPS INFORMATION WHILE YOU ARE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND I KNOW THE GPS INFORMATION WON'T SHOW ON THE DASHCAM ITSELF. I UNDERSTAND IT NEEDS TO BE PUT IN A COMPUTER TO SEE THOSE INFORMATION DURING PLAYBACK. Ok, I got that off my chest. It's just unfortunate wanting to ask a specific question but can't fit it due Amazon's character count.I got the DR02 Dashcam with this GPS Antenna. Everything hooked up great and working fine. I first see the "red question mark" indicating that it is looking for a satellite signal. After a while it turns into a green "G" indicating that it has a satellite connection. Great! I do my other settings (record sound, change it from kph to mph, change record time to 10min, etc.) I head out to do my test drive around my neighborhood.Fast forward to me being in front of my computer. I pop in the SD card and playback my recent recording. Instantly I notice that the GPS information (longitude/latitude and my speed) wasn't in the video. All I could see is the generic information of the time and date. Frustrated, I do a few more troubleshooting and decided maybe my dashcam is bad.I replace the DR02 with a new one (thanks Amazon) and get right back to re-installing everything. AGAIN, after some time I see the green "G" knowing that "ok, I have a connection". Went on a test drive, came back, popped in the SD card into my computer. No GPS information, only time and date.Ok, I thought to myself. Maybe the GPS Antenna is the bad one. I then got that replaced as well. After a few days my new GPS Antenna came in and I got right back to work. During start up, similar to all my previous attempts, I see the "red question mark" as it attempts to find a signal. After a few minutes it turns to the green "G". Awesome, maybe this time it'll work.Spoiler alert (not really). It didn't work. I gave up at that point. You can't find the DR02 firmware updates on Aukey's website, which doesn't help ANYONE. I appreciate Amazon for replacing my parts. But by gosh, for a simple plug and play, it sure didn't work the way it's suppose to. And for those who answered several of my questions in the Q&A, I know you were all trying to help but this time I couldn't find what I was looking for.Congratulations! You made it to the end! I hope that none of you go through what I went through.TL:DR It indicated that it's working with the green "G" and finding a signal. But during playback on my computer there wasn't any GPS information in the video. Got parts replaced, still didn't work.

Antenna works perfectly with Camera
Worked perfectly from startup of newly installed camera. Very happy with camera (purchased on Prime Day), but for some reason, Amazon is not currently accepting reviews of camera. Easy installation and easy interface. Some people complained about white tape showing when antenna fastened to window. This antenna came with dark gray tape and really doesn't show.

A functional camera and GPS dash cam.
Installation methods are dependent on the vehicle. I purchased cameras and GPS system for 2 vehicles. One is a sedan, the other a truck. I thought I could run the wires down the back side of the "A" pillars using the stick on wire clips. As it turned out, that didn't work no matter how many times I cleaned and prepared the plastic "A" pillar covers. Ended up running the wires in two different ways because of the differences in the vehicles. On the sedan I was able to run the wires in the headliner, then out to door of the car, then pinched them in the door seal, and then down under the dash, making sure they didn't interfere with pedal, etc. The truck install was a bit different. The camera and GPS work great. I live in a zone that is hot, and the camera hasn't failed. Picture is very good, and GPS works great.

Good purchase.
Hate the fact that they don't install these directly into the dashcams themselves, but it is what it is. With that said, there's no need for the cord to be so ridiculously long. As other have done, I cut the cord down to about 3" or so. I, personally, didn't open the unit itself up, I spliced the line down and soldered the wires back together, finishing with electrical tape around each individual wire, and around the collective.

Reliable, compact GPS receiver, highly recommended
I am using this with my AUKEY Dual Dash Cam, 1080P HD Front and Rear Camera, 6-Lane 170° Wide-Angle Lens, Night Vision, G-Sensor, Dual-Port Car Charger dashcam and it works great. It is mounted at the top of my windshield and has no issues picking up the GPS signals from the satellites.

Plug and Play on DROD2
Installed the GPS dongle in less than 5 minutes. Dash cam recognized the GPS right away with a Red G in the upper right corner of screen, then it changed to green.Using DROD2 cam
