Love the new steamer!
I've had the pink version for years and years (still works) but Fridja have really refined their product. I chose the new navy one for my sister as she loved my pink one when I brought it to her wedding. The only issue I had with the old one was the pole wouldn't stay up all time but now it goes up quickly and stays up because of the new clasp system. Love it! It heats up super fast and the steam is thick and constant. I'm sure my sister will be very happy with her Jean-Paul. I might have to get another one for myself too!

Great results - but limited use for knits and long length garments
I bought this in an effort to look after the large amount of cashmere and merino wool in my wardrobe - traditional iron pressure is not good for these fibres. On the plus side it was easy to set up and heated up quickly. The finish on my delicate fabrics is superb - it’s beyond comparison with a flat iron and I think it will keep my precious delicates looking brand new for a long time. I have a few niggles: it wasn’t clear to me in the item description that “continuous steaming” is all you get. I had thought this to be a feature I could turn on but no, it steams all the time. The first thing I have to do when I’ve used it is switch my hair straighteners on. The first thing I have to do before I use it is to remove any papers from the study/ironing room because they end up damp if I don’t. If you want to steam one or two garments at a time this won’t be a problem. Because of the large percentage of knitted garments in my wardrobe I’m generally steaming a full wash at a time. Now, to the function: this is super on straight bits of knitted garments but when I get to the sleeves and the hems I have a real problem. It’s almost impossible to steam the sleeves without making a crease up the middle (such a bad look). There’s a rectangular ironing pad in with the kit and, if there were something similar in a sausage shape to place inside sleeves, it would be great - but there isn’t. I’ve bought a sleeve ham and I’m going to cover it in fabric cut from an ironing board cover to try and overcome this problem. I can’t recommend anyone else does this for health and safety reasons but I’m going to give it a go.Hems on longline jumpers and knitted dresses are impossible when they’ve ‘scrunched up’ in the wash; you need two hands to hold the hem taut...and another hand to use the steamer - I’m sure you’ll see my problem. I’ve bought a large retractable skirt hanger which I’m going to pad the ends of to see if this will hold my hems taut while I steam them. If these solutions don’t work then I won’t get a lot of use out of my steamer but because of the results I get from it I really do want to try and make it work. I do think this item has huge potential for knit-lovers like me but it does need some additional accessories.I contacted customer service for advice and got a single-line reply “watch the videos”. Well, firstly, there’s no video on how to deal with a knitted hem and the only video about steaming sleeves is how to get a crease down them. If I’d been on the customer service team I’d have put somebody onto finding a way to deal with these issues and then making a new video. On the subject of hems generally, I fail to see how you could possibly steam a wedding dress, evening dress, or even midi dress because the hem would be on the floor. I suppose if you have somewhere you could hand long garments close to the machine to get the hems high up that would work.If you don’t have a huge amount of knitted garments in your wardrobe I would recommend this product - you’ll never get a better finish by traditional ironing.

Very poor quality
Very poor quality , do not equate your time to buy this rubbish . Everything is made of very thin and poor quality plastic . Not sturdy and do not steam clothes properly

Great steamer, speedy and excellent price!
I use a heavy duty steamer at work. This is great. Plug in, wait seconds, it's ready to use. The trouser press adaptor takes a little time to get used to, but gives a good result! What's not to like! A great steamer for a fraction of the price of others. Some of my friends are impressed with it and are going to buy one.

Difficult to use
Rather a faff to use so I tend to resort to my iron which makes the steamer redundant 😕

My first steamer
I'm converted to steaming. Some minor caveats - it isn't very portable. Ours lives by the wardrobe and comes out on wheels. It is another skillset, different to ironing. (watch the help video first). It does produce a lot of hot steam, which might be an issue in the summer. Be prepared to use purified or filtered water to avoid scale build up. This steamer is great. I'm not sure why you'd pay more.

Great for curtains and garments that are awkward to iron
I used the steamer to get packing creases out of new curtains, that was a challenge!!!! It did the job very well, I also used it to remove creases from a dress and I am pleased with the results, I have only used the steamer for these so I can’t say it will replace my steam iron, it’s an investment so with more practice I might use it regularly.
