Closemount dimensions?

The ceiling to top of the blades is 5 3/8", and ceiling to bottom of light fixture glass is 11 1/2", as measured from my installation.

What is the highest lumen and or watt bulb can you use in the light? The bulbs that came with the light are really dim.

I use 40 watt or 350 lumens dimmable led lights available at Home Depot

Why can’t a variable speed (dimmer) wall control be used? I’d rather not use the remote.

As I discuss in my review, a wired variable speed wall switch CAN be used if your room is already prewired for a ceiling fan. To do so simply don’t install the wireless remote module and connect the fan wires to the proper wires in the ceiling box.

Do you have to hang it using a rod

Mounted mine without the rod for most clearance. No issues. Make sure to slide the remote receiver up inside the base mount for proper clearance.
