OsmoWood Preservative Oil Treatment 750ml Light Oak 732

Ease of application and tenacious finish
I have spent several years researching a range of paint, varnish and stain treatments for my modern home that has factory treated oak window and doors that, after 15 years is beginning to stain where water penetration has got under the factory finish. I have tried yacht varnish ( lasted 2 years before peeling off) and wood preservative that looked terrible. OSMO has this unusual combination of oil based additives within it base that allows the wood to breath but avoid the breakdown of the surface treatment to allow water in. It dries quickly and densely and I was able to do three coats in two days in dry, warm weather. The areas of oak where I sanded off the old treatment (as well as unsanded varnished existing surfaces too) the OSMO preservative adhered equally well. The extra cost versus an exterior varnish are soon out weighed by the ease of application and tenacious finish that looks good. As an architect I am often asked about wood preservatives and I will in future suggest that people consider OSMO based upon my own personal experience.

Worth the Cost
It’s quite expensive but does the job well, easy to apply & seems to be really good with weatherproofing. I’m not great at painting but managed quite well & pleased with the end result.
