Authentic Easy Wood Tools Ci0-NR (4400NR) Patented Negative Rake Carbide Cutter for Easy Full and Pro-Size Finishers for For Wood Turning

I turn screwdriver handles from rosewood inlaid with birch, both relative hard woods. Standard carbide inserts tend to "catch" on small concave radii which results in a tear out that must be repaired. Turning this material combination is slow going. This negative rake insert appears to be much more resistant to catching so I can remove material at a faster rate, at least up to the finishing passes. I'm going to order the smaller diameter insert as well as a square-radius insert to provide a wider range of turning options.

I bought this to convert my EWT full-size finisher after discovering how much better a steel scraper cuts when ground with negative rake. This is absolutely essential if you turn very hard woods, epoxy impregnated wood, or (I’m told) hard plastics.

Have used several different Easy Wood tools for several years. They make an excellent product. This negative rake cutter is new to their product line. Allows for much smoother finishing cuts.

Huge difference for my resin turning. Switched from a regular carbide tip to the negative rack style. Price was hard to swallow, but it sure works great on resin.

If you have not used the NR carbide cutters on your easywood tools, change over now for acrylics. the difference is night and day. On hard wood like dried black walnut or red oak, again, just great. Highly recommend.

This is a must have for anyone that uses full sized carbide tools and doesn’t want to spend all their time chasing the burr.

Works extremely well on brittle acrylic projects. I had an acrylic bowl that would not cut cleanly with carbide cutters or freshly sharpened HSS tools. I ordered this as a last resort and was pleased with the results. I will be ordering additional negative rake cutters in square and diamond shapes as well.

The negative rake takes away the catches when turning epoxy. I love turning epoxy now. And due to that I turn faster and no down time fixing chip outs.Not efficient through for hard wood turning. Doesn’t have the bite you want there. But works decently but slow scraping.
